I know theres a lot of people out there that hate him, but Gus made NSW in Origin football. He was the one that taught the players to be proud of representing this glorious state, and even though they hate each others guts, Wayne Bennett also acknowledged that last night. To all those NSW supporters that turned their back on the Blues because of -team selections and Gus, i hope you all feel miserable today, because the boys and coach did it, they proved the selections were right and you were wrong. Farewell gus and thanks for the memories.

P.S It's off the topic a little but it seems the best thing that happened to Mason was all the controversy, has played the best footy of his life since he pulled his head in.

I think Gus let himself down badly last night. He was a winner who should have really enjoyed last night's media conference and he could have shown up the media by being dignified. But his outburst and tirade played straight into there hands last night they wanted and expected something from him and he delivered. Pity really he has been great for NSW and Origin in general over the last 9 years. But he let himself down last night.

He's a lot like Bennett in many respects. A damn good coach, but with plenty of people who just can't stand him. I guess that's what happens when you get results. Hats off to you Gus. Noone can take your record away from you.

I'm not talking about his dealings with the media, last night or any other time. History will show him as our most successful coach, that is of course unless you want to include that golden era of the 80's when we won 2 series :roll:
