Farewell Shane Webcke

good role model for the young kids, on and especially off the field, too bad we only hear about the yobbos and not the webckes when it comes to off the field behaviour, it seemed to me webcke got better every year since they won in 2000, true champion, fitting farewell.

The man got what he deserved, it was hard to see how we sent off Langer and Tallis and I'm just thankful that Webcke didn't have to suffer the same fate. Now just don't do a Walters and come back out of retirement!

The best Broncos player ever. And the best forward I've seen. Nothing but respect for the great man, and he deserves nothing less than what he got tonight.

Thanks for everything you've given league Shane, you will be missed.

Webcke was like a bull at the gate all game. He just wouldn't stop, I'm sure the rest of the players lifted quite a few gears each time they thought they were tired when Webcke took another hit up. A champion bloke, and now he's gone, it means the Dogs have the best pack in the game!

One of the players that every fan can appreciate and every player is inspired by. In fact he even inspired me to play one of my last matches last season injured (ligimate damage, needed 4 weeks off, played the game knowing one bad knock would mean I'd need to get some surgery done).

There are so many words you can sum this guy up as. But he is a true Rugby League legend, one that many junior props aspire to be and opposition try to beat. Thanks for the memories Shane...and I'm glad you finally got the Storm back for banging up your car. :p

in the 78th minute when brisbane were packing a scrum with a 7 point lead he was still barking orders like a mad man, testament to his attitude, surprised that hasnt been noted

I remember that too. But I don't think it has to be noted, he does this in every game it's just who he is, a perfectionist and a great role model for our game.

One of the most stirring images of 2006 for me will be Shane lifting the trophy - great player, great bloke, great career.
