No it's not, he can play the bass well & sing pretty good, forget his flamboyance...the whole band where talented.

It doesn't take much to be a bass player, i look for other qualities as to determine who would be the best, all 5 i mentioned are great back up singers ( apart from Sting) in there respected bands.

Have you ever tried to play his bass lines?
I can and for that matter so could my 5 month old Daughter.
I'm not saying you judge a player on the technicality of his work but for Budahs sake,Nikki Six????? the guy only needs One string on his bass for each song!
I like the crue and do agree Nikki is a good song writer but as a Bass player he ain't a bass players plectrum!

Geezer (or GZR) was his solo project.
Burton C.Bell from Fear Factory sang for him on his first albulm, it sounds like your typical run of the mill Traditional Metal band( almost sludge sounding). it's nothing great really, it didnt do alot for me

The same thing could be said for Gene Simmons and the other base players, as i said i took into account other abilities when making the decision due to the fact base isn't the hardest instrument to play.

I've also heard Nikki do some fair rythem work aswell. ;-)

We all have differen't opinions & look percieve things differently.

That's the biggest load of shit I've heard all week.

And it's spelled Bass.

Aother spelling lesson while I'm in nazi mode too.

We're = We are. As in 'we're going down the pub'.

Where = Often used in a question. As in 'where is the pub?'

Were = Something that was. As in 'the Jimi Hendrix Experience were awesome'

Ahhh. That's better.

It doesn't take much to be an adequate bass player like the guys you mention, but to be a good bass player takes just as much skill as to be a good guitarist. Guys like Steve DiGiorgio and Les Claypool are phenomenal musicians.

Get over it already, BASS is simple & not rocket science to play, say whatever you wan't but generally bass players are rejected guitarist's.

Im guessing your a bass player?

Jimi wouldn't even make a bass guitarist in a band today, they atleast know how to tune & play in time.

Parra_Panther beat me to it again!

John Deacon was an absolute master before he retired (after Freddie Mercury died). Apart from bass, he has played on Queen tracks the rhythm guitar, keyboard, and piano. But what sets him apart in my books is his song-writing. He may not have written that many songs, but most of them were hits. 'Another One Bites The Dust', 'I Want To Break Free', 'You're My Best Friend', and 'Spread Your Wings' all came from him, plus probably a few more that were credited as Queen (as all songs from their last few albums did - irrespective of who wrote them).

From a listening point of view, Entwhistle, has to be. Amongst all the early
angst and chaos there was one steady chord player - the ox - may he rest
in peace.
