Favourite kiwi song after a Warriors win

Getting a bit silly now, but hey, it's not every Saturday night that the Warriors win! The game was all over at 7.30 in NSW and I had the rest of the night to whittle away at home.

What's your favourite kiwi song when you've had a few drinks, you're homesick (for NZ), and your beloved rugby league team have just won?

I can't go past Poi E. It was big at high school (1984) but was played by a mad fan at the SFS when we shocked the Tigers (and ourselves) in the 2011 run to the GF.

He had it playing on a little boom box and pumped it out whenever we scored, then on a continual loop from Inu's try right up until we all reached Central Station (before we went our separate ways).

Must have been around the same area for that game in 2011, remember that well. Man the atmosphere for that game was incredible, and the energy in the supporters bay after the win was crazy as well, everyone jumping around, hugging other random fans. Man, and that was the last time we made the finals, feels like a long time ago now...

I've never experienced anything like it at a rugby league game.

It was only after Mateo's try that I thought we could upset the Tigers. It was 18-12 at that stage. At 18-6, we had to be the next to score.

I wasted the first half over behind our goal line. Sure, I saw Maloney's try, but it was a desert over there. At half-time I migrated to the 'southeastern corner', thinking I might as well experience the bitter defeat with all the other Warriors' fans.

When I was playing High School footy in Sydney Slice of heaven made me home sick.

At the Auckland Nines Poi E rocked the house.....of all the Kiwi Anthems that chorus set the crowd off.

"How Bizarre" often seems relevant...

It only seems like yesterday seeing Pauly Fuemana stylin' around Grey Lynn/Ponsonby in his convertible Merc, for real (not on the video).

He was often on his own though. As I beat the feet, like the broke dope I was, I often felt sorry for him.

Good call that. Ever since then I've tried to make it to the members stand. Whenever I don't for whatever reason, you can always tell where it is! I've wandered over a few times as well :p.

I had quite a happy hangover today. I usually have a cup of tea or something before I go to bed but last night it was party all the way through, not sure there was even a tooth brushing session. That's very damaging as far as the head next day goes.

The Warriors won though, so it's bearable.

I know the fulla youre talking about wears the Blue swannie at all the sydney games ive seen him get interviewed on tv a few times hes got something to do with the sydney supporters group.

As for longs when were losing I tend to go for "slipping away" by max merrit (I think) one of my dads favourites or fade away by che fu cos were pretty good at that too...
