Favorite monologues from films. There are the classics, will be interesting to see what else turns up.

Here is one to start - genuine classic/one of the best. Robert Shaw is Quint in Jaws:

That Indianapolis speech is one of my favourite scenes in all of cinema.
Shaw is just so good in that role.

Glengarry Glen Ross is known for great performances & monologues.

Pacino gives it to Kevin Spacey

Just close the thread. Honestly.

go through and find the original on the net before Shaw got his claws in to it. That just emphasises just how powerful it is!

The Dicks/Assholes/Pussies speeches from Team America are the first that comes to mind, couldn't stop laughing when I saw those for the first time at the cinema!

As for serious ones, Al Pacino has a bunch of goodies (including the GGR one above) plus probably a bunch of others I haven't seen yet :
- Any Given Sunday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9CD7uj2TL0)
- Scent Of A Woman (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq8CtJSQFL4)
- Devils Advocate (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGR4SFOimlk)

Also one that'd be best watching as part of the movie rather than an out-of-context clip is Billy Bob Thornton in Slingblade, he barely utters a word throughout the movie (except the odd few sentence followed by MMMHMMM), but goes into gruesome detail to a kid he's befriended as to why he was put in a mental asylum.
Recommend watching the movie if you haven't yet, I didn't know anything about this movie until previous flatmate got it on VHS a few years back as part of a videostore clear out, pretty powerful.

He is not the most decorated actor in the history of cinema, but Slyvester Stallone's monologue at the end of "First Blood" is an absolute gem. The best acting scene of his career by miles.

Not strictly a monologue in the pure sense but Vincent Price's speech at the beginning of Alice Cooper's "Welcome To My Nightmare".
