ive enjoyed Enmore theatre the last couple of times - i'm sure they have improved the sound there

Festival Hall in Melbourne for some reason is my fav place, I prefer it to other venues in melbourne even though its not as good, maybe its because thats where ive seen the better bands play, who knows???

The Enmore is good because I live right near it but I've always liked the Metro. Have seen some great shows there - Devin Townsend, Opeth, Queensryche, Baby Animals etc

San Remo pub in Vic

Margaret River Tavern in WA

Fishos Wharf in QLD

Opera house in Sydney is a good place for the unplugged stuff.

..and a place I saw the Jack Awards in called "the City recital hall" is cool.

but the Metro sh*ts on them all.

I like the Tivoli in Brissy. The Zoo would be ok if it wasn't so damn hot in there.

Another vote for Metro and Enmore. The Forum formerly known as CityLive at Fox is pretty nifty also.

I saw the best show ever at the newtown RSL. The annandale is always nice a dirty.

Hopetoun is always terribly disorganised.

I saw You Am I with the Strokes as support at Newtown RSL and the sound was shyte.

Annandale is good but squashy

and the hopetoun is a nightmare with the bar next to the stage....making it imposssible to get a beer if it is packed.

yeah i saw gelbison there once years ago with the frontman from Gomez. wasn't bad.

Small venues:

The Zoo (Can get bloody hot in summer, but is still very cool and seen many great bands there)
The Troubadour (Intimate venue, great sound)

Larger venues:
The Tivoli (my favourite, outstanding place)
Riverstage (awesome open air venue for big shows a la Ben Harper and the Jack Johnson/Xavier/G.Love/Katalyst show)

RIP The Rev. Went under many many names but was always awesome.
