To this day I still can't decide which one I loved more.

The one with James Bond or the one with funky blue aliens named Elvis.

They didnt scream out 'you bitch' or 'I don't wanna die' in Goldeneye so thats where Perfect Dark gets a few more points.

Ah, true...

Oh and in multi-player you could take Joanna in a nightdress' body, and but one of the guards heads on it :D

And the Laptop Gun was awesome, as was the Farsight

It was the one Bumble mentioned, the Laptop gun.

My mates hated when that was in the game when we played multiplayer, I smashed them with it everytime.

The Farsight was my thing...I just had brilliant aim with it and there's nothing you can do to stop it from killing you

The Auto-lock was cheap though.

Was alot more fun searching manually.

lol.. i actually used to play perfect dark semi-competitively back in the day (as i did with goldeneye too)... with some quite sizable 2v2 tournaments. we had schematics of every level and had worked strategies for a room in each map that (with the use of 2 laptop gun sentries) the room could be made completely impenetrable. we never lost a match, it was good times.

after perfect dark i moved onto PC gaming and counterstrike for my competitive gaming needs.

...and as for the farsight - it was banned in competition play, the fun and strategy of each map just turned into "camp the farsight"... which got boring really quick.

PD also had the Psychosis gun. So much fun in single player.

It would be awesome in todays team based online FPS games. The team killing and mistrust would a sight to behold.

MS and Nintendo were in negotiations to re-release GoldenEye via the Wii Shop channel and XBLA (the Xbox version was going to be a slightly upgraded version with online multiplayer and the Wii version just the original) since MS own Rare and Nintendo own the IP but the plug was pulled (apparently by Nintendo) and the project is dead. Which is sh*t for all involved.

After people hyped it for months and I f**ked around, I finally got myself a copy of BioShock and I'm kicking myself for not getting it when I had more free time. The graphics, the atmosphere, the setting... it's all stunning. No surprise when you consider it's from the guys who made the equally cerebral and terrifying System Shock sequel.

Any other games out there with a similar mix of FPS, RPG, and atmosphere? I can think of FEAR and possibly Resident Evil 4. Any other good ones doing the rounds?

Not too shabby, not too great either. Quite repetitive tbh...
