I'm wondering wether they will both see out the three years in NZ. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't both boys from the local area and have been since childhood. Be hard to pack up and move to a new country altogether, think home sickness will set in pretty quick. Good luck to them though, loved having them in the team.

They will have plenty of cousins to help them settle in, bro.

I don't think that will be a major issue tbh..

INU's family are from NZ anyway and Feleti spent a year in London in 2005 and i believed enjoyed the experiance, I'm sure both have thought about this carefully before they made their decision.

What do you blokes think of Inu?

I've always heard about how "talented" he is, but to me he's always appeared slow for a winger/centre, and with not much leg drive. Yeah, he does the odd freaky thing, but for an NRL back I've never perceived him as particularly physically gifted (big/strong/fast/agile etc).

I think his best football is ahead of him.

One criticism I have is that he can be a bit passive and needs to be more aggresive.

TBH, I believe when we were playing poorly, he was one of our better backs, but when everyone is fit Anderson preferred Reddy in the centres and Grothe on the wing.

Not sure if his heart will be in it in NZ. There's a video up on parraeels.com.au with him and Mateo talking about leaving, and Inu looks gutted.

there should be a decent transfer fee system, to help repay the investment in juniors who leave. This would also encourage clubs to invest in their own.

Tautai, Albert Kelly, Nathan Gardner, Junior Paulo and Brod Wright...
Who are they??? How much First Grade would they be playing this year???
They probably would have left in search of an opportunity anyway. Or if you keep them someone like Horo would be looking elsewhere for a chance.

You can't keep every junior you produce or every player you sign. You just have to hope that you make the right decision on which ones to keep.

You should know this as Cabra poach most of them from your area when they are 14.

Good luck to Mateo & Inu, It is sad to see them go but Parra dont want to be the next storm.

I'm glad they went to the Warriors at least this way it can boost the team as I do think a strong NZ following is good for the NRL.

Oh sucked in Bulldogs missed out again:crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy:

I'm sad.

Regardless of what I said about Mateo before, it's still really sad to see a talented junior have to leave.
Hope you are happy Gallop.

Suity

I feel very sad too Suity.

News from the grapevine says the Melb Storm fiasco has opened up a celebratory box for Eels to purchase a few Storm players for next year. Up until this change, Inu and Mateo were still looking at receiving and accepting revised offers from the Eels BUT, very late last week their managers were told the Eels were looking elsewhere and NO revised offers to contract were forthcoming.

Lucky for both boys receiving increased $$$$$$ offers from the Warriors.

Both boys were willing to stay with the Eels and play for 1/2 of the $$$ offered by the Warriors.

Team spirit is a huge factor in winning Grand Finals, etc. Watching the victory celebrations of the boys back in the shed after defeating the Bulldogs recently, I thought to myself great, the boys have managed to work through so many issues to get back that team spirit built up from late last years run to the 2009 GF. I wonder what will now become of this team spirit? Both boys looked terribly gutted and resigned yesterday. You can see all the sudden changes to their lives with the Eels club/family on their faces.

What now happens with the bonds (and respect) some of the players had with DA, PO, others is anyones guess. Hayne, Cayless, Hindmarsh, Grothe and others ARE effected. Lets see how quickly they rise up together and win this years GF for each other particularly for Cayless, Inu, Mateo and Hindy (if they win he might retire too)

What you said Suity "Hope you are happy Gallop." says it all.

I'm sorry but he's not our x factor, he never was our x factor and never was our x factor...we'll leave that title to Jarryd Hayne atm who got the reigns from Hindmarsh last year...

Jarryd Hayne is our most important player in the side and IS ur x factor.

from what ive heard the Warriors are 500K under the cap this season and even more for the following season... so there gonna front load these boys contracts.

the Warriors buying still isnt over yet i dont think... Dean Bell is the new recruitment officer and by the looks of the signings in place hes going after young poly kids who suit the warriors style.

Adam Blair is the next bloke in there list.

im not comparing mateo to hayne, but i am stating that if you are not a coaches favourite why are you always picked in the team,to me its the fact he is A X-FACTOR of our forward pack, thats why im upset he is going i would have been getting rid of common forwards such as ben smith, but he is a topic in itself imo

haha!! sweet... i couldn't remember where i heard it...

im not really sure about the whole thing... being kiwi i like to see the Warriors do well... and i think these boys would do well with the Warriors if Cleary lets them play football.

but im not sure about the price tag on Mateo... while hes a pretty special talent... the Warriors have had players of his style before.. and will more than likely have them come through again.

i dont see why they need to buy a ball playing back rower when they have the best breeding ground for ball playing forwards in the world.

its going to come down to how Cleary uses them imo... he's too bloody conservative sometimes.

hes turned a kid like Ben Matulino who was a ball playing footballer into a workhorse backrower/prop.

if the media had any idea about how much under or over teams are then the Storm would have been busted many years ago

Wonder if we are now going to see Inu and Mateo really turn it on only for us Parra fans to beg and plead that they don't go. Kinda like Dave Taylor last year for the Broncos.

I'm glad these biys haven't gone to one of our staunch rivals, I could not see them wearing a Bulldog or Manly jersey. I like the Warriors and as some said earlier, the boys will have plenty of rellies over there.
