his brother does that week in and wek out
yet gets zero credit for it.
it wasnt that great of a tackle, it was against a slow midget....

I would honestly say that John Williams is one of the best defensive wingers in the NRL - makes great reads (knows when to come in and when to stay out) and has great technique for stopping tries

John not Dave

Sorry. Was just scanning and saw Williams and tackle and thought it was in reference to the one on Coote, thus meaning Dave. (Even though, I now see, you specifically mention John in the post I quoted :p)

That'll learn me.

I think they are looking for height to get over Issy Folau and Gringlis - and i too have heard that Monnagan is a goer.

If they were looking for pace, then Dave would be in.

I'm happy for either, Monas is a good defensive winger as well - and will come into do work when the forwards need a rest.

That Dave Williams tackle on Coote was crap, the poor kid was buggered and absolutely paddling, any other winger gets him at the 30 Metre line.

John Williams is very underrated. When he became a regular first grader, as in when he was at the Roosters in 07 and Cowboys now, he wasn't playing in first grade sides that were consistently winning and performing, when David Williams came into first grade regularly he came into a side that was the eventual Premiers.

On top of that, his cult-figure status gives him that much more likability and familiarlity with people that he is considered a very good player, because he is well-known, something John doesn't have, infact I believe he doesn't even have a nickname? I have mates who don't even follow footy all that well, but they all know who the Wolfman is. Don't get me wrong, I think both of them are very good wingers, they played at my junior club, but honestly, I think John's name will be tossed around a lot more often, when he is playing in a side that is a top four side, consistently which, the Cowboys may do this year. I mean look at McManus this year, made NSW, I bet no one picked that at the start of the year?
