It does make you wonder a bit but really the Dogs don't have any superstars commanding huge money. Farah, GI, JT, Smith/Slater/Cronk, Gallen, Hayne, SBW plus others would all be up there.

The only big one we have is Williams and while he may be a dud it doesn't mean that we're over.

You've got the majority of a minor premiership squad, players like Klemmer getting million dollars contracts before debut. I believe what Raelene says is true. You had the space to sign Fifita but the fact is your team needs to be signing halves and a fullback and it looks for all money like the Dogs are making another big money off to Lichaa, are going to retain Graham and still need to sign a fullback and probably a half

Where is the money going to come from. It's either a situation where the Dogs have to let go of some forwards or they have an unbalanced squad next year

So he is on less money than what the Sharks offered?

What got him over the line? A more advanced sport science department...............

Just a hypothetical here, but what if an audit found that the Dogs were cheating the cap while under Greenburgs watch?

Considering he now works for the NRL, that would be a very interesting development.

I doubt the $300k for Klemmer and Lichaa (if that amount is even true) are base salary amounts. I would assume that incorporates things like bonuses for number of games played, rep honours etc. Chris McQueen got an automatic pay rise when he played Origin this year

I thought most clubs were moving away from that sort of bonus because it made juggling a salary cap too difficult when you may or may not know what you are going to be paying a player 2 years down the track.

Then again, when have the Dogs ever been worried about salary caps.

The envy that clubs like the bulldogs and roosters employ professional accountants while some clubs still have the receptionist doing it.
