Finals Series 2024

Now that the Warriors are officially unable to get to the finals series, I thought I'd kick this discussion off (rather than hijacking an existing thread) with slightly related question about getting to finals games in Straya...

So I totally forgot I had Qantas credit from my cancelled Warriors Grand Final flight last year that expired on 19/09 this year, so I am now winging my way over to Sydney for the first Finals weekend 13th-15th September. Only cost an extra $300 on top of the initial credit amount, gee thanks Warriors costing me even more money :p

To anyone that has gone to non-Warriors finals games, what is the best process for getting tickets in Aus? Hoping to get to a game on both the Friday and the Saturday if possible to make the most of a whirlwind trip (of course depending on where the Sydney teams place, based on current ladder could still happen).

Should I just sign up to all the current top 8 clubs for presales and whatnot?

All club members get a special pre sale code that allows earlier access to tickets, so once you know which clubs are playing where, potentially you could reach out to various forums to help you get that code

Maybe even check the nrl website, and there may be an email list on there you can sign up to that gains you some special access as well.

If the games are at Accor, you shouldn’t have too much trouble at all getting a ticket at any point right up until game day. Allianz may be a bit tighter depending on the sides involved. Think about it a bit more, Penrith will definitely have a home final week 1, so that may be a bit trickier. Hopefully got your sake the Cowboys stay 7th then you should get 2 games out of Sharks/Dogs/Manly. Shark Park and Brookie may be extremely hard to get tickets for, the Dogs game will be an amazing atmosphere though

I used to get my grand final ticket every year through the NZ ticketek site as soon as they went on sale

Sweet, will consider all the options 👌

Saw Manly v Roosters in Manly this year so that's already off the stadium list, but will see how I go closer to the time.

Worst case if I miss out will just hit up a dirty sports bar or leagues club for the true blue Aussie experience if I need to 😅

Not sure on the current NRL policy, but Brookvale was actually not allowed to host finals games after 2008, so they may have to move the game to Allianz. Although the Sharks were allowed to use Shark Park last year so perhaps that policy has been loosened

The casino is a good option for watching sport. When I used to frequent Sydney more regularly, rough part of town but the Bankstown RSL and Bankstown Sports Club were awesome, the buffet at the RSL especially. Plenty of great spots around the Moore Park precinct as well

Jealous of you, really miss getting to the big games, well any games at all actually ! Always recommend getting there early and watching the curtain raisers too
