I like what's happening with Garner although he could come on a bit earlier but it basically gives us an elite line runner and defender when everyone else is fatigued as hell. It'd be very difficult to defend and coach against.
Agree. A lot of people are complaining he is not starting or getting more minutes, but Ivan used to do the same with Spencer - use him strategically in small bursts.

He was playing 80 mins. He could come on when Smith goes off, gives him 50mins.
That puts is the best of both worlds

Yeah he could definitely do more minutes with his eyes closed but I like the idea of saving him as a concept. Just fix the execution a little.

I like it as well. We’ve been dropping discipline and concentration in that 50-70 period as well. Smith going long in his first stint so Henry is fresh through till 60 helps. Then you inject Garner who is very good at poking through, half breaks and getting over the advantage line. I think we just need to get him out there that bit earlier to get the value. 50 mins seems right to me.

Quite a few wobbly passes in his first stint. And maybe I was just seeing things but it appeared harder for him to pass left to right off the ground. In any event I didn't see any hit boot laces.

Perhaps the HIA knocked some sense into him. His best game as a Panther. He really does love NZ.
Looks like the Phins have found themselves a new Hooker.. JMK on his way here lol

It was just Panthers footy at not quite it's finest.

We got into the grind, played the field position game and outlasted yet another team in the finals.

A solid team effort with quite a few players with minimal finals experience, but the senior guys showed their class in the end.

Special shout out to Ipap, his move to the middle has been the difference more than once recently.

And how can I forget the much maligned Brad Schneider. His best game as a Panther and that's all that Ivan could have asked for.

💯 agree.

We are going to need more of the play Schneider used to score his try in the rest of the finals series if the refs are going to let the defence get off the line as quickly as they have been.

I noticed that for most of the game afterwards, Penrith players were clearing the tackle and holding their hands in the air so that the ref could not penalise them. Yes, we held some players down a little, but so did warriors but they were not penalised for the same thing.
I agree. For me it was the inconsistency that was frustrating.

But we will need to deal with that for the rest of the season (probably the decade..)

I am not sure what the Henry hate is all about. Thought he did an amazing job last night. Bent the line consistently, great kick chase.

Not sure why people want from him.

How do we get Garner more minutes? They have to come from someone.

Sorro playing prop does all that he can do, give Henry's 25 mins to Garner. You get 41 from Garner and the side is no worse off and likely improves

I like Garner, but he's not really a big minutes player. 20 is too low, but more than 40 and I think you see him blow a bit.

Sorro can play the first 20 and then move into the middle rotation. Its simple stuff

Nah well need another 20 from somewhere imo. I love Garns but stamina isn't his best attribute. I suspect that's the clubs view too.
