Finals Week Three: Broncos v Panthers

This moment changed the game. Martin rushed in. Momentum flipped.
Yes, you’ve really added a pristine clarity to what was an apparently controversial moment.

I just took it for granted at the time that all things Martin were correct and all in order and then suddenly found myself in prayer that he wouldn’t be marched.

Yet another count added on the list of indictments against the officials.

As your hindyness pleaseth.

I love Martin’s personality. It’s smug but with a bit of hard core sparkle. Like JWH in his hey day.

Love his work, so underrated.

Take the 2 from penalty
In future
“In future”

Smug was never beaten BB.

The NRL officialdom had to actually cheat Penrith to put an end to the run.

In response, Penrith has to surrender this gangsta beastie boy stuff and return to its punk roots.

God Save the league
A fascist regime
There is no future
And vlandys dreaming.

All hell is going to break loose next season. The chances of them losing a game will be next to impossible.

Lucky he didn't break his back here.
Mate I’ve made up some Merch for the event

If you pm me, I can get one over to you eventually.

I’m doing a run of 87 to start off with, but I’m just trying to work with suppliers to get the best price for the forum.

Orders coming in from Agnes Banks to Stroke-on-Thames. The sun never sets on the Penrith diaspora.

People are very angry in the Penrith general area atm, add the double demerits and it’s a bad scene.

When he’s not moderating, @soc123_au is probably hanging out of his window with a weapon keeping the peace in his quiet leafy street.

I might resurrect the old covid street battalion. We’d set up roadblocks during the dark days. If you looked liked you had covid, my islander buddies and I, we’d turn you away or beat you with a stick. Sometimes the accused had a choice.

It was a very successful neighbourhood watch program. I’m sure Trumpy would go for it.

Mamm has that game in him
If photo not doctored. Clearly a penalty. NRL 360 were not sure?
14 up . Be slightly flexible in game tactics. Given gifted 2 points a few times. Surely would take them
Soak up some time
To live in the Penrith catchment like me, is to know them.

And so embedded, you begin to appreciate that Smug is not just not the physical embodiment of rugby league excellence.

It has a deep centred and generally very successful psychological warfare aspect to it.

Taking the easy 2 points… it’s not a tactical masterstroke -it’s symbolic of a field surrender. A sign of weakness and vulnerability. It simply does not compute.

Smug is alpha dominant, it is without mercy, it is to die on your feet, not live on your knees.

Occasionally, that means answering challenges irrationally and illogically, thinking outside the box.

Not giving the answer….but changing the question.

That’s how I see their game and the Ivan.

Points will gather again for the Penrith Panthers and the game should be shaking and trembling.

The heartbreaking loss to the Broncos was off the back off our failure to nail the two or three opportunities we had in the second half. Had we nailed one of those we would be playing tomorrow night. It is what it is.
You’re too humble killer.

I’d ask you to watch the second half again.

I’m not suggesting corruption, but incompetence bordering on negligence from game officials.

Like a distracted driver, he bumps over the gutter and hits some bins. The result is the same.

That Nate fracas too, he was the only man in that scuffle. He was happy to leave it, because he’s a good sport.

Doghead came at him like a big pearl grabbing Karen. Pussy wussy, pos.

I said to my brother in law that everything was under control until the ankle tickles and my illegal obstruction.

Anyway, I’m trying to back you for gf ‘26. It’s ominous.

Lost but not beaten.

Some of the mutterings on the forum have Nate losing his best player in the game status, fudge, there’s some idiots out there.

I much prefer the recent Nate than the mid career one. He’s going back to his rough house days before his shoulder injury and …he’s still the best rugby league player on earth.

And if I’m allowed a small indulgence, I’d like to think that Romey would have helped you, but even he can’t beat rogue officials.

And a shout out to Dylan. I rate him over Tedesco for his game play and stoicism.
Plus he’s the much better person.

I’d rather wait in the queue with dylan getting into the pace way than dine on imported scampi at Truffilinos with headesco.

We had our chances we didn’t ice them.

convenient to blame certain decisions on the officials but we blew it, should have put the game to bed but weren’t able too.

We ran out of puff, we were courageous in defeat.
Ivan's bench and Sorro going down 2mins in was the issue. We were well on top but just ran out of legs.

Luai plays that game, Panthers win. He is a much more reliable defender than Blaize. That and he would have done something during the 4-6 sets we had camped on the Broncos line in the 2nd half even if it was to put a grubber or two through for more repeat sets. Instead, Nathan jumped in over to the left because he thought that he had to do it all. 2020-2024 he'd have trusted Jarome.

I think that’s probably right.

Just more options in all directions.

He struggled without all the gun players and of course, Ivan, brave heart and co.

But we are still enamoured with JL.

I don’t have an issue with not going for the 2. It looks dumb in retrospect but it’s been our game for so long. Camp in the 20, move the ball around without too much worry about scoring and suck the life out of the opposition. The Broncs were fit enough and wanted it enough to keep coming after that and we probably just had a few too many miles in the legs to hold them off after fighting to stay alive for the last 4 months.

On one hand it would be nice to see the team take the cue and evolve our identity and play with a bit more killer instinct inside the 20 now that the weight of expectation is released. On the other, with a settled side and presumably a clinical regular season, there’s no reason this side isn’t as competitive as the 23/24 iteration playing pure Pantherball.
