In the theme of a few other "first" threads we have had here recently... What was the fist album you bought?

(Apologies if this has been done before, I didn't see anything in the search function)

The first album I bought was N.W.A straight outta compton, I was only in like year 5 or something, my Mum hated it lol.

I still think it's a top album.

Bon Jovi - Slippery when wet

the folks had some good vinyl when I was a kid: Blondie, The Police, new wave 80's stuff.

I had NWA and all that gansta rap on tape so I could listen on the Walkman and the parents didn't hear.

Oh my god. My first album...Slippery When Wet.
I was seven and "You Give Love A Bad Name" was on a Summer '87 compilation, bought it. Love the album. Got it still, plus I bought the vinyl version too this year.

Am loving the recent batch of threads in here, great reading.

My first vinyl single (age 6, bought for me): Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall Part II
My first cassette (age 12, pocket money): Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
My first CD (age 16, own money): U2 - Rattle And Hum
My tastes have got a bit broader as the years have gone by...

My first download :... haven't made the switch yet, only take free stuff off official websites

Good idea on going on different formats.

First CD was Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet (aged seven)
First cassette was Dr. Hook's greatest hits (probably same age)
First vinyl album was Alice Cooper's Thrash (age 18  )
First vinyl singles were Sepultura and Elton John (same age)
