Wicks is just too big in todays footy. Needs to drop at least 8 kgs to have any hope of playing at a consistent level.

My team for this Sunday would be:

!. Gidley
2. Vuna (if unfit Uate)
3. Sau
4. Doogs
5. McManus
6. Bailey
7. Mullo
8. Tolar
9. Bedsy
10. Royal
11. Simmo
12. Housten
13. Taia
14. Hilder
15. Patto
16 Faz
17. Cross
That'd be my pick as well. I notice it's the only team picked that leaves out Wes, I think he's made too many errors over the last couple of games, lot of dropped ball.

The Halves are what I think is our biggest key in that Bails kept Anasta quiet at Gosford. Gotta remember Mullo was out for the first clash with this mob. I reckon he and Anasta will almost book themselves as the half combo for origin 3 with big games. Anasta's form has been superb most of the year and he has a right to be dirty on selectors. This is going to be a corker and I reckon we will get 25000 on Sunday to this.

I think Anasta is a must, if Wallace is out we may see his Rooster partner Pearce in the side with him.

The boys have GOTTA work hard, really hard, extra hard, more than usual hard, monotonously hard on defusing cross field kicks this week. The Roosters score about 75% of their tries from kicks so if we can manufacture a tactic to help the outside backs and minimise their ability or luck to score from kicks we can stick it up them again I think.
.
Easier said than done.
.
As for the above reason (Roosters tries from kicks) I don't know whether it would be a good initiation for Uate this weekend if Vuna does happen to be out cause it would literally be all attacked at him.

You weren't replying to me were you :p I'm thinking exactly the same, which is why I really haven't said anything about that team list as a result!
Nah it was more of a general statement :p

Uate may get his chance
By Barry Toohey

AN injury concern over Kiwi winger Cooper Vuna could open the door for excitment machine Aku Uate to make his top-grade debut for the Newcastle Knights against the Sydney Roosters on Sunday.

Vuna limped from the field during the Knights' win over North Queensland on Monday night in Townsville with what appeared to be a severe case of cramp. But Knights doctor Peter McGeoch said last night Vuna may have also suffered a calf injury.

Vuna was yesterday named in the Knights squad for the Roosters clash at EnergyAustralia Stadium but if he is ruled out, Uate and Junior Sau would come into contention. Sau scored two tries on debut for the club in the centres against the Bulldogs.

There are also fitness question marks over centre Adam MacDougall (calf) and prop Dan Tolar (rib cartilage) but both are expected to to be cleared by Sunday.

NSW Origin prop Ben Cross was named as 18th man yesterday but is certain to come into the side provided he is cleared following thumb surgery
