Sounds ok tbh. Julie actually sings a bit and it is an intriguing sound. I expect to become fond of this album. They're not painting-by-numbers, which, imo, is a positive thing. Some may disagree, of course.

I listened to it once and I didn't like it.

That really means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but yeh, it's obviously no "Is This It?"

Actually I'm pretty sure the '?' was absent, c - either way, Is This It is hard to top fo sho. I recall vividly my first impression of that disc. I'm not going to share it but you get my drift, it was a special time.

IMO I think the strokes have gone from strength to strength to strength.

Is this it was a brilliant disc.
Room on Fire rocks and shows some serious song development and production values.
First Impressions blew my head off.

I'm never going to be able to rank these three albums and do any of them justice.

I will say this, I'm really pleased in the way they have created a sound, a song style then taken it and developed it. There is some brilliant vocal/guitar work on the new album in terms of melody and the usual catchyness is rife.

i f**king love it.

I like Juicebox, and when I first heard it on the radio I was surprised it was them.

I want to hear another song or two first before I decide too take the album plunge, but sounds like there's some positive first impressions here?

Bought it today, and it's quite good. I could see this disc being on high rotation in the coming future.

It's a tad hit and miss...

I really can't see them topping Is This It to be honest - I want them to, but they are trying too hard to write music to top it. Room on Fire was awful, First Impressions... is alright but not brilliant.

you're kidding yourself aren't you? Did a rock magazine tell you that?

Room on fire was awesome. First Impressions is awesome.

simply put the strokes are awesome. each album i feel stays true to there sound but doesn't just do it again. The song writing is far better on the last two than is this it.

Is This It, in my opinion, is still their most enjoyable disc. Although that opinion may be heavily influenced by the fact it was my absolute soundtrack to schoolies week, or schoolies fortnight as it was. It's just so damn good.

I pretty much like all Strokes though...

It is an opinion - get over yourself...
