For me, it was Uriah Heep at the Hordern Pavilion in 1973 as a schoolkid. From memory, the lead singer, David Byron, was blind drunk on stage. No wonder he died of a heart attack in 1985 after liver complications.

My second gig was Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs at the Rivoli in Hurstville. For those who never went there, imagine an underground concrete carpark with eight foot ceilings. Add Billy Thorpe and your hearing is f**ked for days after.

Haven't been to any. Mainly because my favorite artists are all Western European based (origin) and mainly have tours in and around Europe. These days all these music festivals, Future etc... are all shit because they're DJs spinning decks as opposed to the actual artist on stage singing. Such a big difference!

Jimmy Barnes - 1987 Barnstorming Tour at The Palace in Canberra. I was 5.

The first I went to on my own accord was Powderfinger in 1999 at ANU Refectory.

28 Days at the Roxy in Parra 03-04 would have been 14-15.

Remember drinking a bottle of JD with my 2 of my mates beforehand, the whole thing is a blurr though I remember getting hammered in the mosh and being to pussy to go into the death circle

Mid 90s, all ages gig at the Roxy in Brisbane - Pennywise, Blink 182 (then pretty unknown), One Inch Punch (different to the later JJJ darlings, they changed their name but I can't remember to what) and another Aussie punk band... Bantha Fodda maybe? Packy might remember.

Pearl Jam 2006 in Newcastle.

Not really much of a concert goer. Can almost count all the ones I've been to on one hand.

In high school, I went to tonnes of 'battle of the bands' types events at various school halls and the like. But that probably doesn't qualify.

I did however see Van Halen in 1998 on their first and only tour of Australia with Gary Cherone as lead singer. Cherone has a bit of bad wrap for his period as lead singer but I have always got respect for him. After all, when he took over he was willing to sing songs from the Roth era which had not been performed for many years thanks to the hack Hagar.

Turning 18 not long after that it was into the Valley to see all manner of bands, both shit and awesome.

Gold Watch for the first person to name a recent Aussie band who modelled their sound on Uriah Heep
