Fittler is my fave non Parra player.

I think if your a footy fan, you gotta respect and admire the guy. Well done on an awesome career Freddy, hope you bow out a winner.

I respect him, he's been a great player for years. But I cannot have a Rooster as my favourite non Parra player.

he's killed us more times than what I care to imagine.

I have a healthy respect for the bloke.

One of the best of all time.

To be able to survive an elbow and then a flying headbutt within the space of 5 seconds in the '02 GF and then go on to lead the team to a win....well, for mine, that just showed how tough and classy he is.

For sure, loyalty is very very underrated these days and in my view those who are loyal to a club deserve a lot of respect by all.
Having met Lyon several times, I really can't believe he has done what he has, I would never have picked it in a million years ...

I hate to say it but I reckon he is right up there with Brett Kenny as far as 5/8ths are concerned. As far as longevity at the top he actually exceeds Kenny, even though I reckon Kenny had more individual brilliance.

I agree with all above.

Also have to respect that he has had camera's, media, and the public in his face since he was 17, and whilst he has stuffed up a couple of times, yo can accept that from someone who wouldnt know the meaning of the word privacy. He has geniunly grown up and matured and has always been a footballer you could watch and admire.

Not sure where he fits in on the scale of all time greats... I imagine slightly ahead of Stu Galbraith and Chris Lawler, but HJ may think otherwise... :D

I stood and applauded when he ran onto the field yesterday... and then quickly sat back down before the rest of the Roosters started running out

no doubt a great player

would have looked mighty fine in the blue and gold

Phillips you are making a habit of this, again i agree with you, infact that is how i honestly judge a player, i imagine him playing for parra and see if i would be happy with them in the side.
Would only of been too happy to have freddy.

Given that Parra is out of the running, I won't mind seeing the Roosters send Fittler out a winner (better them than the Dogs anyway). If anyone deserves it, he certainly does.

Fittler reminds me of myself when i was younger, getting hailed on a sunday afternoon in september....ahhh those were the days

but yes Freddy is a top bloke and a top player and carries the roosters more than some people think!

I knew Brad back when I was a little tyke who had just moved to Sydney. We all knew then that he was going to be a great player.

It has been an honour to watch the bloke play for my state and country, and he has captained with honour and distinction. There isn't another player in the game who has the class of this bloke, either on or off the field, and I was not in the least bit ashamed to stand and applaud him yesterday when he came onto and left the field.

Truly a great player, a top bloke, and an all round excellent role model for youngins.
