I'm not going to say that this is even close to resembling what the Dally M is. But odds on that the Dally M in most cases awarded same/similar players. And could be quiet close to this.

Daniel Holdsworth has been great this year

Can I get your honest opinion. Did the dragons make the wrong decision by not resigning Holdsworth to a long term deal. To me he is better than Barett at 5/8!

Wrong wrong wrong.
Last yr Luke Bailey won prop of the yr, yet Webcke was ahead of him on points.
It is up to the the voters who get the individual awards.

Preston would win it if it was based on LU points!

I think a good 5/8 should also be judged on defence as well as attack. Because of the lack of good defensive and attacking 5/8's id have to go with Holdsworth or Smith.

The LU points obviously dont factor in tries conceded. I know im harsh on Preston, but really as good as an attacking 5/8 he is, he will always be a target wherever he is on the field.

Lang putting him on the wing the last two years just made it worse as teams are finding it easier to isolate him.

Mate I think they did make the wrong decision personally, Holdsworth showed touches of class in his limited opportunities at the club and had the potential to be the Dragons long term pivot

I would of said Thurstan but 1. He played alot at H/B and secondly, him being outed just takes that bit away from him

No one knew what Barrett was planning when Holdsworth made his decision to leave the club. It would have made huge difference in the decisions of club and player.

Yeah exactly.. It's all well and good for me to say that is was a mistake.. But hey, these things happen sometimes [and sometimes players/clubs don, post: t really have a choice!"]

I remember him tearing Parramatta apart in the lower grades one day and thinking "this kid could be something". I was shocked when the Dragons let him go, but I guess hindsight is always 20/20....
