Not sure why you were compelled to state your profession. Does it give your views any more cred? Haha. Nope.

For the record, I've only ever dealt with solicitors once. When my father died without a will a week after remarrying.
I think solicitors are greedy, low life, blood sucking filth.

Somehow its the solicitors fault that your father didn't have a will ??????

For the record solicitors don't create the laws they just do the perfunctory duties associated with it.

I should have clarified.

When someone dies intestate there is a set formula that must be followed. We were given bad advice that filled the solicitors' pockets and emptied ours.

Objective View is obviously an exception but most lawyers are two-faced blood-suckers leeching off the the working class.

I wouldn't say most. I would say a high proportion. Most lawyers calmly go about their 9-5 day (or thereabouts) dealing with internal legal work that doesn't really affect anyone.

Then we get the handful of ego-driven clowns who's love of money is matched only by their desire to make people squirm. And while I don't know Objective View, as obnoxious and arrogant as he is, I can't see him falling into their category.

Yes, you are probably right on that.

Sorry, don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that. I meant a low proportion. As I said, most lawyers aren't the blood sucking leeches you refer to, they are paper pushers mixed into all kinds of government departments or large corporations. The leeches just ruin the name for the rest of them.

And no, I don't work in law at all!

There's the old joke - What do you call 1000 dead lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?

A good start.

Hmmm I think you will find most of those lawyers paper-pushing in government and large corporations are mainly looking into ways to rob the working class of more of the wealth it creates.

Objective View is obviously not one of those.

My personal loathing is reserved more for the shitstains who make millions keeping the upper class out of the same trouble that would get the working class locked up. And those who work to defend rapists, murderers, pedophiles, and so on.

Yes, they are the without question the worst but it's merely comparing dog s**t with cat s**t. But of course your original statement is correct. It's not 'most' but a high proportion.

Of course a very high % of law professors are quite the opposite and therefore, very much against "lawmakers".

I have empathy for the loss of your father however the reason you had to deal with a solicitor was his failure to dot I's and cross T's.

The issue with intestate is the ability for all and sundry to put their hand up, make claims, contest etc.

If you don't want that to happen make a will and have it registered.

For all the other lawyer bashers your ignorance of what our democratic society dictates as fair is astonishing however it enlightens me as to why some make the comments they do.

Basic principal "everyone is deserved of a fair trial" and everyone "has the right to legal defence".

Simple don't do bad or stupid stuff and the problem of using lawyers goes away to a large extent save for the most basic of things like conveyance work.

The legal and medical professions are bound by a range of oaths and you don't always get a say in wether you will or won't work for someone.

Now the relevance of all of this to footy????

Make a game plan, stick to it, give it your best shot and have an alibi if you stuff up.

Old Timer, I've seen quite a few defense lawyers take apart victims on the stand in my time, all in the name of providing their clients 'a fair trial'. It is truly sickening to watch and hardly the work of 'very decent people'. Medical professionals on the other hand are bloody heroes...and your comparison between the two is lost on me...

Correct. It is also an avenue for solicitors to prey on the vulnerable who are still in mourning. We were given bad advice. Us kids lost our inheritance. Our solicitor owns a mansion on the Hawkesbury.

Am I bitter? F**k yes.

What was this thread about again? Back on topic.
We lost a trial in which we used pretty much our full roster. Most of whom had never played together.

Big whoop.
