Five Year Plan

I'm not usually one for planning my life beyond a week to week basis, but lately I've been trying to change certain things about myself. In addition to a dieting and exercising and actually showing up for shifts at work - I've also set myself a 'plan' for where I want to be in a few years time.

I'm sure I'm not alone in this, so I was curious as to what other people's plans are?

Mine:
2007 - Work, get back in shape, get my licence
2008 - Move back to Newcastle to do my Grad Dip in Sociology (Creative Writing) and work. See Newcastle win the premiership. Attend my sister's wedding in December
2009 - Teach English in South Korea for a year, saving for...
2010 - South Africa 2010
2011 - South Korea for another year, saving money for...
2012 and beyond - Working holiday in Europe, based out of England and working there to fund backpacking journeys of mainland Europe.
2079 - Die

England in 2012 is the next RL world cup (after Sydney 2008)

Sweet as, I should be there for it then :D

Hopefully somewhere in between now and 2018 (fingers crossed it's in Australia) I'll have had a novel or two published, so I won't have to keep making pit stops in Korea to earn more cash.

another 5 or 10 years should see the world self capitulate... i don't have much faith in the directions we are heading.. so mine would be:
2007 - go hard
2008 - go hard
2009 - go hard
2010 - go harder
2011 - push the limits further
2012 - anything after here is a bonus. maybe start thinking about settling down.

2008 - Collect underpants
2009 -
2010 - Profit

Or, something along the lines of seeing how this year goes and having a better idea if the current path I'm on is the one I'd be most interested in following. If so, either pick up a job as a research assistant or move on to a PhD, which would take up the next 3 to 4 years, then look for a post doctoral research position, possibly away from Newcastle.

If this isn't where I want to head, either look at a different postgraduate course with view to specialising in some other aspect of medicine or medical science, or take the degree as weight in a resume and see if it leads to a job in a completely different direction. So basically, no concrete plans, at least until the end of this year.

I plan to retire within 5 years.
I am pretty much retired now, but i work 16 hours a week to pay the household bills and to keep my hand in, just in case.
Unfortunately, i don't make enough money from work to pay my tax bill, so really, it is stupid going to work at all.
I will eventually get brave enough to cut the apron strings.
