I really like the looks of this guy. Not in a George Michael kinda way but as a footballer. This is turning out to be a great buy. He can only get better. The more he gets used to our style the better he will get. I would start him. He can play 80 minutes. Smart player. Put him at lock, immediately.

Most years their is a surprise packet and in 2010 it seems Flannagan just might be that player. Big motor, big work rate and glimpses of skill. Early days and a bit on the small side but is shaping up as a very good no14 or mr fix it "play anywhere"

And he is a goal kicker.....

Lets give him a go at kicking them.

I was dubious when we signed him but he looks the goods. Heard he played a lot of 5/8 in his junior days, he certainty has good ball playing skills.

I have had doubts about our recruitment guys for a long time but Flannagan seems to be a very astute buy. I imagine we will take up the one year option shortly and hopefully extend his stay for even longer.

Is young a will develop into a high quality NRL player.

Our recruitment has Turned- Ellis, Lote and Flanagan....

But still we persist with Daneilla Brown etc etc.......maybe they will come good with some minutes

Whist some of our recruitment has been very good in recent years especially Ellis and Lote, I think our overall recruitment has been poor for a number of years.

We buy too many players like Daneilla, Brown, Fitzherny, Payne etc in positions were we have strong junior and reserve talent.

In the last few years we have lost: Harrision, Lima, Saffy and Tandy all of who never got a real go at our club.

I know you can't keep every one.

Hopefully our recruitment and retention continues to improve and lately it has been showing encouraging signs.

What is this bloke's ideal position? I saw him play at thew SFS in round 2 and he struck me as being really small. Is he one of Sheen's 'mobile ball-playing props'?

Yeah he is pretty small, which is ok but i dont think we can afford to have him and fulton in the same side. 1 small guy yeah but not 2. I think Flanngan offers more than fulton who is just a tackling bag with the ball usually.

I would keep both. Fulton is a natural footballer whose defensive reads are second to none. He not only is a tackling machine he picks the right guy to tackle almost every time. Watch the manly game again and see him make the right instantaneous decision on who to tackle when faced with multiple runners. You can't teach that it is a natural thing, our defence has always been stronger when Fulton plays.

Flanngan is a true utility player and should be our utility player on the bench. I believe he can cover 5/8, backrow and hooker if needed. Maybe even centre at a pinch. If needed in a game situation Fulton can cover a lot of positions and Ellis could cover centre. I would rather keep Fulton and Flanngan in the 17 than Fitzherny.

He's of similar stature of Paul Gallen.

I think he prefers to be at Lock more than anywhere else.

I'd play Ellis, Fulton and Flanagan starting backrowers with Heighington to slot in as interchange as needed. But however you slcie the cake those 4 would be the main ones...............

He's bigger than Fulton, yet still Flanagan is considered small.

If he can do his job well on a consistent basis, then his size isn't really an issue

he looked bigger this week without the head gear for some reason, maybe the guy last week was an imposter lol

I like him. A "footballer" rather than an athlete. His work in Marshalls first try last Friday and Tuquiri's against the Chooks was good stuff.

Reminds me of what sheens was saying no NRL on Fox or NRL Tactics

"size is an illusion". I almost choked when I heard it
