Isn't he a lucky guy....
What he say?
Cheers I’m overseas at the moment so can’t see it.Maloney - He didn’t accept that the Club couldn’t give him an increase in money just because they won the GF. Said he’d have the other players knocking on his door if he did so how could he justify just giving him a pay increase. Said he respects what Maloney did for the Club and even though he hasn’t spoken to him since he left he has no ill feeling to him.
ASADA Scandal - He was very inexperienced at the time and under manned staff wise (No CEO) He didn’t know it was happening and when he did find out he didn’t deal with it very well. Said he would’ve handled the situation much better now.
Asked who had influenced his coaching career. Said he had worked under or guided by the following; Mick Cronin, Roy Masters, Warren Ryan, Brian Smith, Ricky Stuart, Ron Massey.
Missing out on a Franchise for the Women’s Rugby League - Said he and the Club are gutted by the decision and the Club had been pioneers. But said the Club will continue to pursue to have a team and develop Women’s Rugby League.
Asked about who’ s in charge of recruitment and retention. Used to be just him and he was never comfortable about that. Now he has talent scouts and a recruitment team which he is a part of.
He was asked about his Son and if he is excited of the prospect of coaching him. He said yes but he is not ready yet but he might get a game or two around Origin time maybe. Said he will be guided by Lewis and Gallen when they think he is ready for First Grade.
Apparently he is good mates with Mark Coyne. They share quite a bit of banter. When they won the GF Flanno went to Coyne’s house whilst he wasn’t there and took a picture of the trophy tucked in his bed.
About all I can remember lol.
He stared at the table for most of the interview but the new choppers looked like he could chew through a chain.

I heard he mentioned he’d be looking at Moylan for a few years? That’s interesting given his contract situation

Thanks, mate, that's awesome for those of us who don't have FOXTEL...Maloney - He didn’t accept that the Club couldn’t give him an increase in money just because they won the GF. He said the best coach he has worked under was Bellamy by far.
Re: Origin - he's probably thinking Moylan, Duges, Wado would be 'in the mix'. I can't see Freddy picking Moyza...
However, VERY SMART to have some old heads in the playing group guide him on his son's development!
Someone in our halves missing during Origin?
Have they got an overseas holiday booked?
He might look at resting 1 of our halves at origin if we are travelling well and up against a side we should comfortably beat.Someone in our halves missing during Origin?
