Flanno's New Signings

As you say all are over 30 with , so what, three, maybe 4 years left of their careers. The fact is our future wont be built around this trio with other players to take their place in coming years. But the future is looking rosier for the time we will have them. This is the triple injection that will lift this club into the finals. They and our new half. All we need now is another big experienced bookend to complete the recruitment package.

Saints have a few 30+ but also have quite a few under 22 which if they make an impact balances out the average age of the starting squad.

Guler is 27 y.o. Good age for a prop. Experienced but not too many miles on him. And I like what I have seen so far. A good buy.
It is good to have a prop like Guler in our pack and some youngsters combining through. However, we need at least one or two AFB-type props to put fear in the eyes of opposition teams. This is all we need now to complete our squad.

I saw Gouler play for Canberra in his first year and he showed a lot of potential. He will hopefully turn into a very good purchase for us. I am not sure of his name but I thought there is another front rower at Cronulla we should chase. He was at the eels.

I assume you're talking about Oregon Kaufusi. Unfortunately, I don't think he's going anywhere Thomo :/

I’m starting to come around to the idea of Klemmer. I was (am) worried about his discipline, and his cost/age. But if he impresses Flanno, then maybe he offers that aggressiveness, dominant leader type we are missing?

Yep.

Options are limited, someone is needed and he is the best available.

Simple equation really.

We just need to get it done.

I really hope the NRL allow this to go through while the Molo-shitshow is being sorted.

Everyone knows he's never wearing the Red V again...

Once Molo runs out of leave time and is no longer being paid, it could sort out quickly, as he seems to be in need of cash flow, given that he has borrowed from the club for "home extensions."

I don't understand that. He is on $550k-ish. What kind of extensions could they be that he can't afford them out of that much loot?

Yeah I read that yesterday and was annoyed at both parties.

1. Why on earth would the club give him an advance for home extensions? The club is a business, not a charity and the guys make good money. I'm a pleb and don't go crying to my boss to give me an advance for renovations. That's what savings, financial planning and as a last resort, a personal loan from the bank is for. I'm stunned the club would agree to something like this. If Webb signed off on this, then I'm glad he's out the door. Unbelievably bad business.

2. On the other hand we've got a guy who schleps up to the club, cries poor and then asks for an advance, gets his itty bitty little feelings hurt about a few words in the off season and then can't just get the F@ck over himself? Should be applying for a job in the NRLW, but it doesn't sound like he's tough enough for that.......
Let's not forget the club supported him after domestic violence charges.

Sounds like a soft ungrateful waste of salary cap space to me.

Both parties asking for more

Both parties will settle for fair and or Molo sits out and doesnt count as cap.............The NRL has to take a stand on this one otherwise a cyclone is brewing for all future shitty moves by players and managers.

............

Lots to play out with Molo, Hazelton and Klem this week and next

If we rank a top level prop like AFB - when their season has been alot of games played and minutes......... their tackle efficiency is almost the same

AFB in 2024 = Total Run Metres, Average Run Metres per game and kick return Metres

4,030175.00640

KLEM in his best year = Total Run Metres, Average Run Metres per game and kick return Metres

Apples and oranges. How many years has it been since his best year? Would have to be back when he was at the dogs and I’m guessing not his final year in 2018 because they released him that year.

Apples and grape fruit ?

I mean pop up Molos stats last few years

jeeeeeezuz……. So bad

I’m happy to go on record

I think if Klemmer was in our pack in 2025 he would be 150m plus and 98% tackle efficiency

would not even be a shake of a lambs tail

easy !!!!!

so the question if not Klem 2025 who ? Who will deliver the above stats ?

What other 19 kangaroo and 14 SOO player will deliver ?

most importantly kick returns !!!!! Which he can do very well and we don’t have many who can besides Emre

And this would not be the first occasion that the Dragons have been short changed . The NRL needs to take a stand on this sort of thing .
