I watched the.presser live on fox, it showed him talking the whole time
Must have a different telly then me as the one I watched they showed game footage. My imagination is not that good to make that up. The vid on fox website shows him talking but it didnt in the live presso that was on the post game show.

Lomax could be the next Gutho

Gutho was a centre at Manly prior to his ACL reco and tiny bit of 5/8

Then at 22/23yrs of age nabbed to FB spot at Parra when he shifted clubs

in fact Lomax this season faster and stronger than ever on the Wing makes me think he could be a very good fullback…….especially now he has finally matured a little in his attack decision making. Much more select than the unbridled streak he had to attack everything in years prior.
Maybe but doubt it… he’s just too slow. For all the great things Lomax brings, I can’t remember the last time he made a clean break

Which I think in a nutshell is why he was moved to wing. Up his involvement and finish tries from close range or in the air.
He has had hardly/if ever broken the line and scored from outside 20 metres that I recall.

Fuller is a great little player, tbh he could probably do a good job of 2-4yrs of football for us while we wait for one of the kids.. but im not sure we would go down that path.. I think hes rly happy up there also.

Might have helped if he had a decent half that knows how to create space for players.

Zac mightn’t have made many breaks but our edge back rowers have barely found a hole either.

Apparently we are preparing to offer Utoikamanu 900k per year for 5 years. It’ll be a great signing but overpaying. Think a 3 year deal at 700-750k per year is right but Tigers have offered 800k per year and we are trying to make a statement and play no games.

This probably means the end of Blake Lawrie in Flanagan’s eyes if we get Stefano considering Toby and Ryan Couchman are only getting better, Francis Molo and Hame Sele are better, De Belin still off contract but Infront of Lawrie, Loko Pasifiki Tonga coming through.

The plan looks to be get Stefano, get rid of Lawrie and extend Couchman twins. Probably should also let Michael Molo go too.
M Molo would be on low dollars and so, would be best to keep him in reserve grade as backup.

I think MMolo was necessary to get Frank.. I know its not ideal but hes probably as useful as Lawrie as a backup and much cheaper.

Its not going to be an easy few years with all these young ones coming through.... every time a player looks good.. the vultures swoop.. were gonna have to keep the couchies and tonga and latu and halangahu etc.. we almost didnt sign Frank and a few clubs were hunting him after 1 big game.. at that time we didnt have JDB or Sua or Cook.. could have made things very lean for 2025.

Its why 2024 was so crucial.. while not perfect... players now know what they are getting if they sign, previously noone was willing to commit based on what he had done 6yrs ago... a life time ago seemingly.

Seperate to Frank……I also think that signing a low priced solid player to a one year contract has value if injuries strike is smart

but because it is only one year they can be given an early release if handy for both parties

seems like a smart call signing on MMOLO for a one year with the option to exit if required and agreed

I imagine Flano has set some kpi targets that are not being hit.

I.e. Before we talk extension, "you will demonstrate a short kicking game" and "you will manage a close game for a victory". "You will stop panic passing as your preferred 5th tackle attacking option".

Or maybe i am dreaming and we just agree to keep forking out Nathan Cleary money for a Wish version of a captain and halfback.

As it stands Lomax and Rav won’t be here next year and we have extended Feagais.

if this was forecast at the start of the year there would have been mayhem on here but yet here we are all again checking the rumours thread to see if it is Holmes or Talagi as our scalp and so far, like it always is, it’s duck eggs.

So quick to let players go and so slow to replace them with genuine or improved players.

no amount of cunning persuasive argument will convince me we are starting the year stronger next year at this point.

corey Allen is good but it doesn’t solve anything. Add the issues with halves and the missing prop and I just see another wasted year ahead where we are discussing preferences and who will be recruitment officer.

sad excuse for an organisation the Dragons…

You would think that they would have people signed up or ready to be before they get rid of any players. It's like you have an OK car but you want to upgrade it and you still need it to get to work but you do a stupid thing and sell it and become a silly idiot because you don't have your own transport and need to catch 2 buses and a train to get to work taking 2 bloody hours and if you had the car you would be at work in half an hour and the better car you have pondered over to buy for yonks is sold to someone else. Oh NO!!

The reality is most of the players the Dragons are chasing are still under Contract
Some have been given permission to negotiate then the wheeling n dealing starts between the two Clubs
It doesnt also mean the Club will let them go .....
Terribly frustrating for all
Hopefully some "light" soon
Talagi and Stefano as early as tomorrow
If Stefano goes to Storm , expect some releases from the Storm , as prev mentioned
Big Nelson keeps dipping his toe in the water , and letting all know hes about
Papps is the sleeper....
