I saw "nine queens" a couple of weeks back, and it was brilliant. basically about a couple of small con artists who get together for the big con that will set them up for life. really good, lots of twists and turns (set in argentina).

its been out on dvd for a while.

"Infernal Affairs"

at uni im doing a subject called history and film where each week we watch a different european film. so far the best one ive seen was l' grand illusionment (forgive misspelling) or the grand illusion, a 1937 film directed by jean renoir. i really enjoyed this, very interesting especially for the time it was made and knowing that a second world war was only 2 yrs away

The Infernal Affairs Trilogy is awesome stuff.

Well..off the top of my head, I think Beyond our ken, A moment to remember, Battle Royale, Seven Swords and SPL are a few good asian movies to look out for. Oh, and Initial D..I guess lol

I think its name is "Musa"...A South Korean film that is a feudal Korean version of "The Seven Samurai". Great stuff.

My dad rented it from Video Ezy I believe lol.

I THINK it's called "Ong Bak"...

The protagonist is considered to be the new Jackie Chan - and judging by some of his stunts I'd agree! Some of them aren't realistic, but, like Chan himself, apparently he performed all the stunts himself.

A lot fo action, good fight scenes and it's quite funny, too.

I enjoyed it.

I saw a French film over the long-weekend called "How much do you Love me?"

It was rather amusing and the lead actress is hot-hot-hot (especially if you are a breasts person)

'City of God' is brilliant. IMDB ranks it in their top 10 movies of all time.

'Joyeux Noel' is also very good and well worth seeing. 'Der Untergang' is probably the pick of the last year or so, though 'Shooting Dogs' is quite impressive. This is about the Rwandan genocide and is quite confronting stuff.

Has anyone seen the Turkish movie about Gallipoli? Might be a good one to pick up from the video shop this weekend.
