No. You don't need a church to get married. If they don't believe in god or Christianity why shouldn't gay peoples be allowed to marry?Who stops them from getting married? Do you mean in a church?
By your own admission pedos hide in churches. Should we make religion illegal?

So we should kill homosexuals? Also 'Christian values' is a very nebulous term, it can mean anything. Australia has always been a secular state. So why should non believing gay couples not be allowed to marry if they want? Is there any other reason besides what the bible says? Our laws are based on Christian values and it goes back to this.

No, they're not. Most of them are based on common sense that religion claims it has a monopoly on.Our laws are based on Christian values and it goes back to this.

There's nothing to be gained by not following Christ's teachings and much to be gained for following.

I think it’s a historical fact that he lived. I don’t for a second believe he was born to a virgin as the son of god but he was a person.
Except for gay couples who want to marry. There's nothing to be gained by not following Christ's teachings and much to be gained for following.
How did you arrive at that opinion?
Except for gay couples who want to marry.
Besides the religious perspective, is there anything wrong with gay marriage?Sometimes what we want isn't the best thing for us.

What that he was a real person or that he isn’t the son of god?
Historians believe he was a real person having reaserched it, I’m willing to believe them.
Not the son of god? I don’t believe in god so it’s hardly a jump for me to say he isn’t his son.
