Just had a look through the Australia Day 2004 ambassadors and where they will be and came across this

Peter Wynn -- Byron Shire
Ray Price -- Murrurundi Shire Council
Dean Widders-- Parramatta City Council

Also Jon English -- Lake Macquarie City Council

what's the role of an ambassador?

Basically just to be at any offical ceremonies in that area and usually they give some sort of speech.

Bartman Murrurundi Shire Council takes in the area from the Northern end of the Hunter Valley to just South of Tamworth
