pretty sure it was reported that keating had come to terms with the club (if you are talking about 2010 when he chose the dogs).

from memory he got jack of waiting for the formal contract while ossie was chasing qc around, so keating took the dogs offer. our club screwed kris keating over.

Well it's good that his brother was able to remain professional about it, because plenty of other blokes couldn't - look at Reddy's and Horo's attitudes after their dads got the sack.

Hopefully Hopoate's desire to play for the club isn't diminished by his brother's termination. If it wasn't in question there wouldn't be a newspaper article about it.

Pou, just so you know, Horo's dad did not get the sack. he did not get a coaching gig and Penriff offered him one. Spoke to Mark about it, he did not want to leave but understood he had to take the opportunity.

Simple, he never expected his son to leave, RS made that decision completely separately.

They can't sell drama without ambiguity. There are even quotes from the manager of both brothers denying the possibility.

You'll notice he's not denying that they're terrorists. Or gay prostitutes. That's because those aren't in question. But a rift between the club and the Hopoate family over this is a real possibility.

I wouldn't be surprised if this thinking was behind Jamal's disregard for the club's rules - 'they won't sack me because they want to keep my brother happy'.

If you disagree that's fine but don't imply that this kind of thing is impossible. People fall out with their empoyers all the time over divided loyalties.

I don't consider Mark Horo to have gotten the sack either, but since we're talking about Kris Keating being sacked, Mark Horo's situation is the same thing. We didn't offer an opportunity but someone else did.

Mate, I agree to an extent, but the only degree of ambiguity needed for them to make a story here relates to the fact that the 2 players have the same surname....so they can put "Eels sack Hopoate" as the unqualified headline in the paper and on websites.

Parra and the west are over-represented in the Telecrap's market, this section of the market likely rugby league more than other sports, no rugby league being played currently, so any story like this is gold dust.

I have a low opinion of the media only because I have a low opinion of media consumers. The media can't sell what merkins won't buy. We get the media we deserve.

seriously, you dont think they have any responsibility for the rubbish and innuendos they provide ?

its all the consumers fault ?

I suppose you buy Women's Day and Who magazine every seek to see what the Kardashians are up to

My point is it's everyone's fault. Why the need for a scapegoat? If 'the media' stopped printing rubbish, someone else would step in and provide it, and make big money doing so. So where's the incentive for 'the media' to stop what they're doing?

The only way to stop it is governmental control, but merkins don't like that either. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I suppose you buy Women's Day and Who magazine every seek to see what the Kardashians are up to

Those pigs sell magazines because enough useless merkins want to know what they're up to. This is democracy in action.

Beautiful isn't it?
