Former Panthers in the NRL

This is sad.

The Parramatta Eels have brought an end to Michael Jennings's playing contract by mutual agreement, the club announced on Tuesday.

Jennings, who was provisionally suspended after testing positive to banned substances last year, had been contracted to the Eels for the remainder of this season with an option in his favour for 2022.

He had allegedly tested positive to Ligandrol and Ibutamoren.

"The Parramatta Eels and Michael Jennings have today agreed to bring to an end the terms of Mr Jennings's playing contract," the Eels said in a statement.

"Mr Jennings is the subject of an ongoing process with Sports Integrity Australia (SIA). Mr Jennings has been with the Eels since 2016 and based on its experience with Mr Jennings over the last 5 years, Parramatta does not consider that Mr Jennings would intentionally take performance enhancing substances.

"However, in recognition that the SIA process will take some time to play out, Parramatta and Mr Jennings have agreed to part ways because Mr Jennings wishes to allow the team to fill his position and have the best 2021 and 2022 seasons possible."

The 33-year-old former NSW Origin centre and Tonga international played 298 NRL matches across stints at the Panthers, Roosters and Eels.

While not in the NRL anymore only discovered this afternoon that Tony Puletua played over 400 first class games across the NRL, Super League and internationals retiring in 2015.

I really had no idea he had such longevity.

I remember him for being awesome from 2000 - 2004 before becoming hot and cold and leaving Penrith.

Great player when he was angry, but could be a gentle, disinterested giant when he wasn't. When he was fired up, he was unstoppable and quite skilful. Alas, he was very inconsistent even though his quiet performances where better than a lot of players good performances. If you could put Gary Freemans heart in Tony Puletua's body, you would have something akin to the Terminator and the NRL would find a way to ban him because it isn't fair on the other teams.

DWZ doing "Dallin-things". Still hilarious those that wanted him at FB for us. The guy should be nowhere near the spine.

Perhaps another sign of how far we've come.

Dallin has gone miles backwards at the Dogs. Ditto Katoa and Hetherington. Ditto Cotric, Allan and Flanagan. The place is a talent vampire atm, sucking everyone dry of any footy ability they once had.

Dallin is approaching meme levels atm but he's a much better player than this.

The whole team is a joke. Flanno got benched last night, Corey allans playing centre, cotric wing. I cannot say it enough, they have f**ked their recruitment up massively, if they Burton right now he’d would be struggling massively and under pressure. It will take a miraculous off-season to get a team that will get out of the bottom four next year.

Cartwright is proof that teams can destroy players but be redeemed somewhat

Titans ruined him along with every signing they made for about 3 or 4 years. Holbrook seems to be improving some guys a bit but they're still carrying a lot of players who are shadows of what they used to be

Eels are only a solid team and have managed to turn Cartwright back into a first grader and not a complete joke. Although he's going to wear the jokes for his Titans form for the rest of his career.

Burton could be the next career destroyed by a bad decision. The money was good when he accepted it. But that Bulldogs side is a cancer to players careers and Barrett isn't going to fix it... And if Burton had waited his offers would be much higher and from more desirable clubs.

Don't forget Cartwright has a few drop balls in him and can be a turnstyle in defence, but he can easily win you a game
