Exactly. I was a mod there in later years. Being a 'company man or woman' during those tough times was a real bugger.

I probably had runs in with you too.
Ha ha, you did with me. Did you guys have mod meetings there to get you brainwashed into towing the line? The cheerleading even when we got spoons was horrendous

Looking back on it. It was bad (full disclosure here) I liken it to being a W/T member at the moment......(I didn't say that did I) :p:p:eek:

I agreed with some of what went on. Some I didn't. But you learnt to toe the company line, in just wanting things to improve.

Sad thing is Kiki (remember her as the Penrith digi) died earlier this year, she apparently had a nasty disease. Far too young to die. Sad thing her life was cut short by this disease. It was some type of auto immune disease.

Mmm the Dogs. Crichton, Burton and Kikau running together has to produce something.

We've won the last 6 in a row and they haven't been close:

2020 Penrith W 42 - 0
2021 Penrith W 28 - 0
2021 Penrith W 30 - 4
2022 Penrith W 32 - 12
2022 Penrith W 30 - 18
2023 Penrith W 44 - 18

I am kinda hoping all these Penrith connections work out for them. Not too much, but just enough so I can see us play a competitive game against them like the old days. Used to be one of my favourite match ups (Even more than Parra).

Any team running an official fan forum has rocks in their heads.

It's like HR asking for honest opinions of the business.

The company line must be towed at all costs.

That is what plenty of clubs did back then. 20 years ago right or wrong ,club run Fan Forums were a way for clubs to communicate with fans and attract fans to the site.

Your point about the towing company line and being a HR nightmare is a valid one.
Many a time threads started by disgrunted fans (whatever the club) did make it in the Sydney papers.

The emergence of other social media platforms gave clubs a way out.
It is no coincidence that PI was wound up during the Elliott era.

I recall thread that popped up with the acronym FOE. Short for f**k off Elliott. It quickly got taken down. But many posters (me included) signed our posts off with F.O.E.

I remember PI and RLeague.

PI had to tow the company line and RLeague was run by a bloke mad with power.
