I think Bryce needs time away from the game.

I think you've hit a nail on the head. He needs to get right away from the game for 12months at least. Bryce needs to work out if he wants to play enough to take the hits and bruises of the game. The emotional issues of the last 18months have impacted on his onfield performance.

Sadly the parallel between Bryce and Dave Taylor are getting stronger by the day.

This is beyond sad.

I agree with the Dave Taylor part, however, I do not agree with the time away from the game part. Bryce Cartwright needs help, and football seems to be a big part of him, with professional help, and support from the club, his family, and friends, he will recover, and in turn, he will find form.

Being reported Bryce Cartwright is exploring whether there is any interest from other NRL clubs and it has not been denied by the Gold Coast. Coach has been basically quoted as as saying they would not stand in his way if he was able to secure himself a deal elsewhere. According to gossip he didn't do himself any favours by buying an expensive motor vehicle for his current partner from a dealership which is in opposition to one of the Gold Coast owners and posting the purchase on social media. His career is in free fall and I highly doubt there would be any other NRL club willing to take Bryce, certainly not on his current wages and when you are used to being paid $500K or more a season it is unlikely you would be willing to accept a pay cheque of half that so I suspect the Titans are stuck with him.

I think this explains a lot regarding Bryce, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Very sad state of affairs.

It will get to the stage Alice where we will no longer feel sad for Bryce and his situation because at the end of the day it is largely of his own doing.

The greater majority of us in society struggle each week on a fraction of what Bryce earns. often in menial jobs where you actually have to work for a living.

His demise as a footballer may be sad in terms of his potential and talent but as a person I don't feel sorry for him in the slightest regardless of how his situation pans out.

The real people who deserve our sympathy are those struggling by on minimum wages, working more than one job to feed there families and pay there bills week to week.

Can't really see anything wrong with what he said. He knows more about the situation than any of us. Seems like a last ditch bid to get Bryce to wake up.

I was thinking the same. Gould has known the family for forty odd years and would know them better than any of us. He would also be more aware of the current situation(s) with him
(Bryce) than most people, I am sure that Gus has Bryce's best interest at heart.

Offloading him proved to be a master stroke. Gus proved himself to be so good at offloading ‘damaged goods’ other clubs will probably be more wary in future when we are looking to offload talent!

Absolutely nothing in Gould's response to the tweet. There is plenty being written and said about Bryce Cartwright by those in the media, fans and his own coach Garth Brennan was pretty open and honest yesterday when questioned on Bryce. Wouldn't be an issue if Bryce was playing good footy and earning his pay cheque.

From Carty's last reserve grade game. He seems to be having a go until the injury:

177m, 5 TB’s, 20 Tackles with 1 missed and 2 offloads

Will Smith. My god. I would love to see the statistics of how many critical game costing errors he has made in his career. No one else in recent memory sticks in my mind like him. He is pretty much guaranteed to f**k up at a critical point in time of a game.
