What did Blake do that was so outstanding? He didn’t make any line breaks, got tackled most times, nothing outstanding.
The tries that Sivo scored were regulation and To’o would have scored them.
True, Sivo was a loss, but I don’t think Blake is that great a loss.

You're right, but there were a few "I've no doubt Naden will be better than Blake" style posts after his first game or two. I was excited about Naden early doors (and still think he has a place in the 30) but it was a bit ridiculous for a while there.

As were those saying it was a dumb thing to do. I didn't comment and still won't yet until I see how the 30 man squad ends up.

I will say this. As the squad was we were not even close to winning the premiership. In these cases the better players always go because they are the easiest to get rid of

Even if you’re right, they could’ve moved on Edwards, Whare, Mansour or a combination of the three.

Instead we moved on one of our only strike options.

Do you think the Dogs wanted to lose Klemmer and Woods? WT would love to get rid of Matulino and Packer but you need a buyer and someone to clear enough space.

I doubt moving Whare and Edwards would clear enough assuming you get a buyer. The issue is 2-3 years down the track you chase the style of player you let go.

Hopefully when we need a centre one of the Flegg guys are fine to go

He did make a linebreak in the 201m he gained. He also grabbed a try assist.

Most importantly though he looked and played like a decent centre in both attack and defence. Not his best ever game. But it was still a very strong well rounded performance from him. Once Eels undo the damage Ivan did to him in 2019 he should be much better in 2020.

His best performance this year. I’m sure Naden has had at least one similar or better this year. He is talented, but I don’t think he has the work ethic to make him high class or elite! Never goes looking for the ball. Besides I could have made at least 100m today against the Broncs and I’m 60!

Klemmer & Woods wanted out, if thats the case with Blake then there’s not a heap we could do. But I have a feeling it wasn’t. We know there’s a clearing of players going on, seems more club instigated.

Remember as well we moved on Blake when the club possibly still had hope Egan was the answer at 9. It became more apparent as the season went on that he wasn’t ready. So I’m not sure Blake was moved on for us to get a Hooker.

Naden is a terrible defender, that alone undoes most of the good work he does in attack. He’s also not a natural centre, won’t pass the ball.

Michael Jennings didn't make 100metres and he had a decent game.

Blake had 17 runs... making more metres than any back on the field other than Gutho. His work ethic looked pretty good to me. More importantly he also used his winger.

Maybe Blake preferred hook's coaching style. Who knows but in these cases there has to be both parties wanting out

If the club tells a player they’re not wanted, pretty good chance they’ll leave. No one wants to be somewhere like that.

The only hang up is the contract, as long as they’re not losing much money they’ll go.

Which is the best outcome if that is the case... You need to get the results to justify it though

Blake had a good game, he worked hard but he did nothing for us to lament losing him. They scored 58 points and he set up one and scored none against a side that gave up.

161m from 17 runs a try assists and 2 tackle breaks were his numbers. 9 tackles and 2 missed 1 error.

Sivo, my god he is a loss.

Going off Nrl.com he doesn't. Although I wouldnt be surprised if Sivo had more metres than they credit him for.

17 runs and 201m gained is hardly a bad work ethic was my point. He clearly has lost pace due to conditioning in the pastoff-season. He will improve in 2020 after agood pre-season at Eels though IMO.
