Cammo,

Spelling and Gramma got us beat in the last game. Type it in Word. Use spell check. Then check it again. Ensure you dont go over the 750 word maximum. Make it clear how many words are in your article. If you can shorten it, from say 750 to 720 by rearranging sentences or improving grammatically, do so.
If you refer to any publication, ensure you provide a footnote referenceing the publication. I think the footnote may also cut into the 750 word limit.

Write with Passion.

Good Luck.

oh so we got some good tips going -

I must admit I didn't read the articles from last week as I am still working at finishing some eof reports.

Look out the following next weeks

Finally read your article Chris, you know that I think your a champ, so I think it's MOM material !!

Also I have a really hard decision to make and I'd like everyones thoughts. Catatonic Omnivore has gone missing in action, last I heard from him he was heading overseas, that was about 3 months ago and he hasn't even been on line since. So obviously I'm thinking that his work and family committments have prevented him from even logging on. It would be in our best interests to replace him, and I just wanted your opinions.

Also do any of you want banners? And can anyone here make them. We had the banner drama last year, so I thought we should see if we can get something organized this year. Also, we don't want pov banners, we want arse-kickers. So if any one knows how to do it or knows of someone perhaps we should consider having them. What do you think?

Half is quite the banner maker
and so is Raiders_2004

banners would go alright but it would have to be good to dislodge The Boss

Guys, also it has come to my attention that perhaps some of the spelling errors that we have been losing points for- are due to the fact that the poster and the ref are checking in different formats. Salivor for instance checks in NZ English. After our word count I think it would be prudent to put an * with the format we are using ie. American, Australian blahdy-blah.

eg.

Word Count 750
* Spell check - Word - Australian English

Bub, you are one classy hen. Loved the article. Top shelf.

Still laughing -- Give me a break! Do we really want these guys to be repelling their line with sardonic sidelong glances!

Thanks Pen - I've always wanted to use the phrase 'sardonic sidelong glances' ever since I read it in a B grade novel that my grandmother bought me about a gazillion years ago!

Worse book I've ever read in my life!

Hehe, helluva phrase. I've managed to slip it into my novel, I think. I love the word sardonic.

Was also a helluva read. Wouldn't be out of place in a publication, and that's not just me overdoing the team support. Really did enjoy it, and agreed with what it had to say.

'Bring back the biff!'

Thanx CWB, high praise indeed from someone who's articles I always enjoy reading.

So, you're an aspiring writer too, are you? I'm just about over half way through writing a novel at the moment, however I recently got a bad case of writer's block and have been struggling to work my way through it! Unfortunately there's no pills or ointment for it!

Yep, self confessed aspiring novelist here. I'm about two chapters out from concluding my first novel actually. What's yours about, if I may ask?

You may - it's actually loosely based on my own life, write about what you know, right! I've led rather a full life - seen a lot, done a lot and have the imagination to concoct the rest!!

Wow, two chapters away from finishing, I'm truly impressed. I've gotten pretty bogged down somewhere around the middle and have let the evil voice in my head (one of many sometimes  ) get the better of me, as well as working full time, renovating an entire house and raising two kids, being a daughter and my husband  !

So, what's your novel about, if I may ask?

Anyway, congrats on almost finishing - a mighty achievement in itself.

Mine is, actually, based loosely around my life too, lol. It's about a guy who gets dumped by his fiancee (which never happened to me, but I had a messy breakup) and spends the resulting year trying to figure out what he wants from life and where he is. Kind of half coming of age, half romance, half drama, and half comedy. Which, of course, would make two novels- but I don't do Maths too well. :p

I usually write fantasy, and this novel was just an experiment, but it's had a good response so I've stuck to it.

I can imagine how tough it'd be trying to write with a full life. I struggle to find time as a single, anti-social Uni student with ten hours a week of work to do. :p
