Join us tonight for a HUGE night of radio action. From 8:25 "In The Firing Line" will have a special guest co-host in former Parramatta Eels star, Jason Power. We will also bring you an interview with Billy Bong Thornton, Jason travels to Ireland to interview "Irish Stew" and we have our music quiz where you have to guess the common link between the songs coupled with news, and issues.

Following In The Firing Line, The CRL Show will bring you an interview with Misty Bee, reviews and previews with myself and Rabs, a special guest in former US President Bill Clinton and as feature artist The Foo Fighters. The host with the most Rabs will be out for the evening so I will host it in his place. So stay tuned tonight from 8:25 - 9:30 "In The Firing Line" and from then on... The CRL Show.

A BIG NIGHT OF ACTION

dam, my view btw. because for and against is the current tie breaker, a team that wins a game in a 3 v 1 situation, gets far more benefits from their match compared to a side who plays in a 5 v 5. if points for comes into the situation the team in the 5 v 5 rightly gets the most benefits from their match.

I think it sucks, cause the ones which don't choose to turn up or fail, comes to advantage to another team, for and against is all bout luck not how good you are.

the only reason the raiders have a better for and against is because they have had less posts made against, a big flaw in the current system. this needs to be changed.

Pirates are only 84 points behind = one post. Did anyone from the Pirates hold back a post this year? :-k

ummm, no willow. pirates have posted 45 times this season as have the raiders. but the pirates have 43 posts against, while the raiders have only 42. that's why the 80 gap exists. having 43 and 42 posts against is totally out of each teams control which means using it as a way of seperating teams in unfair on some teams.

a fair way of seperating is by comparing things teams actually have control over, like the amount of posts they have got in or, points for. makes perfect sense really

It only makes perfect sense if you have a perfect plan.

As you say, both the Raiders and Pirates have got 45 posts in so far, the maximum - no one can ask more than that.

Neither the Raiders nor the Pirates are at fault for the amount of posts from the opposition teams.

Similar things are happening down the ladder, with battle for 5th spot for being another example.

The issue seems to be about what 'the other team' is doing. In my opinion, no system would be perfect in this regard, the only way to rectify it is to have 5 v 5 every round and to do our best to work towards that.

willow you can compare points for, or you could actually compare what happened what happened when the 2 sides, locked together, went to head.

if we want to get into nitty grittys, the pirates have lost one game, as have we, further more, their one lose was against us, which means if we went on countback again we'd be on top, and we lost our one game but a single point, while i think we beat the pirates by 2 points.

So IMO the table as stands a fair indication of how the season has gone, why fix something that IMO isnt broken

I don't think we can change anything right now but all suggestions are good and should be nutted out over the off-season. I'm guessing you're not suggesting we change the rules this late in the season.

I agree with the most posts suggestion. But its becomes muddy when you start having most points for.

If you compare points for both teams, then you're relying on both teams getting the same refs, the same amount of times. Refs are consistent within the match they mark but each ref has differing range of marks, as the stats thread showed.

The current for-and-against covers this differentiation.

I know its a harder to do, but I believe we'll reach 5v5 for every match within the next year. In which case, its all academic.
But that's not to say we shouldn't have a system in place and continue debating it... and coming up with ways to improve on what we have.
