Forum Upgrade and Support

As you may have noticed, we've just upgraded our forum software to the latest major version. There are some new features that come with the new software, and we'll highlight these over the next few days.

Just like any major upgrade there are likely to be teething issues, but we'll work through these as quickly as possible.

If you've got any bugs to report or constructive feedback, please post them in this thread and we'll take a look.

1. Pop ups either below or where you are posting.

2. circling thing whizzes around trying to load itself duration about 30 seconds

3A then unheralded , the circley stops and is replaced by pause sign.

3B seconds later, pause thing disappears and loading circle appears etc

4 x clears problem for 1 second then he comes back and tries to load himself.

5. after 3 cycles, he decides it’s a good idea to pop up where you are writing.

6. Weve seen him before for a couple of weeks.

Then at random he restarts the whole site and takes you back to previous posts if you are n the middle and editing something.

Repeats etc.

sorry I'm not into IT, is this a technical term ?

perhaps a better description of what is happening might be more useful, screen shot maybe ?

Load site. Pop up appears blocking things I want to read. Press the x to clear it. Pop up goes then comes back a few seconds later. Then it happens again. And again. And so on.

I am going to post this experience and record the (pop) pop up as I type. I’ve just exed it. Pop again. Now x, clear typing now, pop, x it was circling, pop again, he’s loading up, x, clear, pop…

This is my experience with it. Now, pop, it’s reloading while I type, now I will leave it, now moves up where I type, x, now pop…

So this is constructive feedback for LU IT.

I think theres a probably a gremlin in the video myself, but I’m not IT.

At any rate, there’s a lot of interruptions in posting, so for me anyway, it is hard to try to contribute pop.

The bar ads at the top are unaffected.

Yep, the whole thread just then reset itself on its own. That can steal a longer post and you lose stuff and need start again.

Editing unaffected except for pop interlude.

Is it possible if you could be more specific? A screen shot is a good start, plus stuff like browser, device operating system. Has it got anything to do with this site?

I’ve had the same a couple times this morning at random times, both while browsing LU. Chrome browser on iPhone, iOS 18.1.1

I am. Will grab a screenshot if it happens again but so far have been redirected to a page telling me I have a virus on my Pixel/Chrome...and to a page telling me Vodafone wants to give me a new phone on my Surface (Windows 11)/Chrome.

They're those super annoying passive redirects. No links clicked or anything, just a random redirect partway through scrolling or posting.
