Forum Upgrade and Support

As you may have noticed, we've just upgraded our forum software to the latest major version. There are some new features that come with the new software, and we'll highlight these over the next few days.

Just like any major upgrade there are likely to be teething issues, but we'll work through these as quickly as possible.

If you've got any bugs to report or constructive feedback, please post them in this thread and we'll take a look.

Hey mate, apparently there's been a bit of illegal alienings attacking our computers.
I get why we have to verify why we are human when logging in but I was wondering if it's necessary to do this when we use the LU app.
To use the app, one has to sign up, have an email that's verified and also have a password.
So everytime I use the app it's already verified, unless I'm missing something or uneducated as usual.
I'm ok doing the bot check but if can be avoided by using the LU app it would be cool.

Unfortunately none of that is really accurate.

Firstly, the app can be used by guests as well. Secondly, just having an account doesn't automatically make you verified. Spammers and bots can do that too.

I was going on my experience of signing up. It was offered to me after I signed up. Obviously this is not correct for everyone.
I am wondering why a guest is allowed to have the app without signing up/in anyway?
Doesn’t to make sense as it defeats the purpose of having an app and it's security, is that right?
Anyway, it doesn't matter.
I said I was happy if it's necessary.
It's not a complaint.
Also it would be nice to know why posts are deleted and what the post was. This has happened before and I really don't know when, why, and what was violated.
Once again it's not a complaint, just feedback.

Why not? Why would we not want people to be able to read the forum?

Notifications are sent with most deleted posts.

Not as such. If you're devices other than iOS, you can install the forum onto your phone. It's not exactly an app, but it has similar behaviours (push notifications and the like).

Ol' Nutz isn't great with technology terminology.
