Sorry the other thread broke :S

I just wanted to gauge people's opinions on how the forwards went this game. Just rate em out of ten.

8. Tolar - 7 Solid stuff but nothing really spectacular. Crucial dropped ball in own half.
9. Buderus - 10 Brilliant dummy half running and support play. Combined with halves
10. Royal - 7 Another solid game with some good offloads
11. Houston - 8 Hit the line hard and made good tackles
12. Ciraldo - 6 Pretty average. Didn't really make a dent in offense or defence
13. Taia - 7 Thought he went ok. Looked good in patches
14. Hilder - 9 Great stuff from this guy. Ran and tackled really well
15. Patto - 8 Woeful field goal shot but solid game. Excellent try assist
16. Fa'aso - 5 Ran well but handling errors mounted up a bit
17. Wicks - 5 Was pretty ineffectual tbh. Didn't do all that much

too generous, royal and tolar weren't that much better than WIcks and Fa'aoso.

don't know if hilder deserves the nine, did throw a nice dummer but threw a few passes missing the chest and directed more towards the head of support runners. points for trying but.

I thought Tolar and Royal were solid, Tolar made some great hits in the first half forcing at least one error. While Wicks and Fass made some errors, I thought they both looked dangerous with the ball in hand and I can't believe how much people are turining on them after one game.

Tolar - 6 Did some decent things while on the field, but maybe not enough metres from a first grade front rower.

Buderus - 9 Nothing can be said about the bloke that hasn't already been said. Inspirational.

Royal - 5 See Tolar. Makes some nice inroads now and then and has good footwork for a front rower. Too many errors in the ruck with penalties and handling combined. Battling with Tolar as to who Cross replaces.

Houston - 7 Typical workhorse game that we can come to expect from Houston. Solid without being spectacular. Will form a great backrow when Simpson returns.

Ciraldo - 6 Did a few nice things in possession with the ball, including the early offload that should have led to McManus try. Possibly out of his depth though.

Taia - 6 Can be frustrating. Still didn't do alot wrong.

Hilder - 8 Workaholic with great attitude. Our best forward behind Bedsy. Great signing.

Patto - 6 Did some great things and some might think 6 is harsh. In my opinion, you can't give any player who plays only 28 minutes a rating higher than 7 unless they were unstoppable and faultless. He played less than 30 minutes, and the try he set up was offset by his dropped ball that led to the game tying field goal. Can't be more than a 6, even though he did some great things while on the field and looked dangerous every time he touched the ball.

Fa'aso - 6 Take away Faas obvious handling problems and he was pretty solid throughout.

Wicks - 5 A nice offload ( another that McManus should have scored from but for a poor Gidley pass ), though was found wanting in the middle of the ruck defensively when he got tired. A couple of handling errors. Finch and Smith were redirecting traffic constantly at Wicks during the latter stages of the second half to target Wicks fitness defensively. Wicks has the potential to offer a great impact, but he can also be a massive weakness in the defensive line if his stamina isn't monitored closely by the Knights coaching staff and opposition target him in the line like the Eels did.

Not impressed with Royal, gave away some crucial ball last night, I thought I was watching Perry.

Royal also needs to work on his marker position. Gave a couple of penalties last night for being too quick and not marking square. Those kinds of penalties, although obviously shows enthusiasm, also gives away too many easy metres to the opposition.

I thought Royal got a harsh call when ref said he wasnt square, that as load of sh*t, he is as square as you can get for a quick play the ball :?

Yeah I think I know the one you were talking about Jono - it was garbage, the bloke playing the ball's head would've been 20cm away from Royal, who was facing right at him before diving off to the left to tackle the dummy half!

Whoever said before the game that we will get pinged more in this match for all those sorts of things around the ruck was on the money!

Honestly, give Karmawave some credit when it's due.

I haven't posted much lately due to being overseas, but I've been reading the forum a lot and personally Karma I enjoy your contributions.

I don't always agree, but this is a forum for opinion right?

The prediction regarding the ruck last night was spot on.

Also, just quickly, it is plainly obvious regarding the Walsh/Dureau debate that right up until the beginning of this season Walsh was the preferred option with Smith.

I am a huge fan of Dureau, rate him way above Walsh, and unlike Karma I believe he is genuine first grade quality (he has put more players through a gap in 3 games than Orford or Kimmorley will in 10),.... BUT, when the issue is whether or not he was considered by SMITH to be high in the pecking order then he obviously wasn't after scraping together a contract and Walsh being given a 3 year deal.

It's ridiculous to say 'oh but Walsh if fit, but still not being picked'. Sargent is fit enough to be playing as well, but that doesn't mean a player is ready again for first grade, especially one who needed to do a lot of off season work like Walsh did.

Again, I hope Scotty plays every game this season and gets a new 4 year deal.

But give Karma a break he's not a fool.

I agree, however after three rounds i can tell you something i have noticed in relation to this. Even if one of the markers is square and makes a perfectly legal tackle as Royal did the starting position of the other marker is being assessed as well. Its not enough to have one marker half assed and another one in the right spot, they are penalising it.

8. Tolar - 8 went well imo against a much more seasoned pack
9. Buderus - 9 Settled the side well when needed, ran well, great player as we know.
10. Royal - 6 Was picked out by Riddell as a lazy marker, those of us who know hagans tactics well predicted it. I was annoyed.
11. Houston - 8 Is going to be another steve simpson for us, good game always works hard.
12. Ciraldo - 7 Worked hard, didnt do anything stupid.
13. Taia - 8 I am not sure that some of our supporters are noting the work this bloke does off the ball, he is our standout player so far this season.
14. Hilder - 8 Worked very hard.
15. Patto - 7 Ran a perfect line off gidley for the try, popped a magic pass late, dropped an important ball that cost us the match.
16. Fa'aso - 7 Was a damaging runner all night, made a couple of poor errors.
17. Wicks - 6 Was picked out as a defensive liability, was shown up by Mateo badly, he ran hard but was easily handled, however the runs he created for others with his play the balls were good and to me that is why he is there.

Our forwards destroyed Parra, lets not forget that. Mateo was sensational, but in a badly beaten pack on balance.

But give Karma a break he's not a fool.

Please, law of averages are working in his favour. He is bound to get something right eventually. Although I admit from a financial perspective relating to the club, I could learn a thing or two from him I guess.

Israel Folau going to Brisbane written 11/3, Greg Inglis playing on the weekend named Friday afternoon, Onslow signing with the Knights 2 weeks before the announcement, West Tigers big marketing announcement today that I mentioned last week...

Yeah must be on a hot streak Darkness. A fluke maybe ;-)

Onslow was posted on here last year.

Deareu?

Patto struggling with a knee injury when I watched him train 100% that morning.

I actually like your posts, and your info at other clubs is good.... at Knights you are a bit off though......

Still, this place is better with you around.
