I don't think we're going to do anything this season. The players selected in the middle are not doing what is required, are maybe not capable, and I doubt it's being recognised and so doubt the changes that could turn it around will happen.

Much of what happened last year was based on Matagi's and Latu's form and Cartwright playing in the middle. Matagi's gone and Tamou is a poor replacement. Latu is devolving in front of our eyes. And Cartwright is going to waste out on the edge for the whole season.

It's Lang ball out there, one out vanilla hit ups, only there's wrestling now and our players are no good at fighting for a play the ball. The only players looking likely to win a ruck contest are DWZ and half the time Yeo. We may as well have six f**king RCGs out there. He was supposed to get better by picking up skills from the rest, not the other way around. We'd be better off paying a Sam or Fifita 1.3-1.5mil and losing both Tamou and Merrin, only when they got here for some strange reason they'd forget how to do anything other than hit the ball up one out and get laid on in the ruck.

Our defensive line speed is also shithouse.

Now to watch the dragons cast away pack put on a performance of twice the worth of ours.

Someone said Wallace had a poor game, but he made 54 tackles (3 missed) and played the full 80. That's a lot of tackles needing to be made elsewhere if TMM (19 tackles) is the 9.

most halves only make about 15-20 a game, that's more game plan than anything.

TMM is strong enough to cope with the extra tackle workload is all I meant.

And Wallace doesn't have heaps of time left in his career.

Considering we have just re-signed Dean Whare, I think going forward we need to make a change with Tyrone Peachey. Up until now I think most of us expected that Blake and Peachey would be our centre pairing going forward and Dean Whare would move on. But with Whare staying that changes things.

So far Tyrone Peachey has been a poor hooker, but I think it's the position we need to try and groom him for. He's currently injured and for the next few weeks I think our backline should be:

1. Matt Moylan
2. Dylan Edwards / Malakai Watene-Zelezniak / Peta Hiku (once Mansour returns whoever is picked is gone)
3. Dean Whare
4. Waqa Blake
5. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
6. Te Maire Martin
7. Nathan Cleary

Assuming that starts to fire, Peachey needs to find a new way to contribute to the team. \ I think he's too small for the forward pack. He was never consistent there before. So far he hasn't been much of a hooker either, but then he has never been left there and allowed to develop. He's a very dangerous dummy half runner, so it's just a matter of teaching him to distribute the ball from dummy half and know which player he needs to get it to.

Not sure he is capable of that. But there's no place for him in the centres anymore and hooker is where he could offer the most for the team. We deadset need to try converting someone who is surplus to requirements in one position to hooker. It worked for Peter Wallace. So hopefully an even better player can also make that move.

I think the main thing that counts against Peachey at hooker is his weakness as a centre... he's a bit of a selfish player. If he thinks he is any chance at all he backs himself everytime even if there's a player in a much better position then him. Hell sometimes even he has to realise his chances are nearly non existent and yet he still backs himself. Not sure if you can coach that out of him.

Peachey would be another Segeyaro at hooker, way too much selfishness.

It's funny, I really thought he'd found his place in the centres, wasn't long ago he re-signed either.

Only two conclusions

Griffin will move him back to a bench role

Or Griffin sees Peachey in the centres over Blake.

What are we basing our faith in Griffin on? What has he done that makes us think he's a good coach? I'm genuinely interested.

Well it's not his inspired use of the bench, that's for sure. Akauola (10 minutes) and Katoa (as a back-rower) were useless. Could have used Kikau, would love to know Griffins' reasoning for leaving him out.

Kikau poses the threat of breaking a tackle. That's not his job, he's a prop, he needs to get that out of his game before he can solidify a place in our pack.

He's also a dominant tackler.............now I see, he's just got too many problems.

We should be better in the middle than the Knights, Tigers, Titans and a Matulino less Warriors. We should be able to match the Bunnies and Manly.

Basically half ythe comp are better than us in the middle and some by insurmountable amounts. We will be lucky to go 50/50 for the rest of the season unless we change something.

Our Reserve grade side were beaten by Newcastle,26-20.The only time we led was the 18th minute.

We got done over by a team of Nevilles FFS. TAB will be happy as.

People think Cartwright is error prone now. Watch what happens when he gets back in the team on the edge with this middle. With no momentum we'll end up going sideways and sideways and we'll end up dumping it to Cartwright with nothing to play off with the mindset of do something.

Dragons squad ain't top quality thats for sure but it seems even Mary can get a team fired up and believing. We are in big trouble
Like everyone else I expect them to fall in a heap as the season goes on but in all five games they have won they've been the better side so they deserve to be where they are.

Not panic stations yet. I think we lose to Cronulla next week but after that Brisbane (without Hunt), Parramatta (without French), Warriors, Knights, Bye and Bulldogs are all winnable. Need to win 4 from those 5 in my opinion.

If the sharks turn up to play they will do us easily, way to tough a team for us atm. Griffin will still be proud of the losing effort though.

You are literally blaming RCG for the poor form of all of our middle forwards lol you have completely lost it. RCG has more tackle breaks then any of our forwards this season, and he is making more metres per run than any of our middle forwards, he is running hard and bending the line and is getting quick play the balls a lot more often this season, he's been our best prop easily.
