Foxtel Match Choices

I'm thinking of writing to Foxtel about their choice of matches on the Saturday midnight slot. Fair enough, they cannot pick the other games as Sky do, but as Sky do not choose the midnight match, why the hell do Foxtel continue to show the most worthless and boring match on the day. Last week it was Villa v Bolton, honestly, Bolton is in with a tiny shot of the Champions League spots, but what the hell is Villa playing for?

This week its Villa vs Tottenham, holy sh*t, there's a game with midtbale mediocrity written all over it if I've ever seen it. Meanwhile, Norwich play Southampton in an absolutely crucial relegation battle, instead we get to watch a match where the only thing on the line is who will finish 10th or 11th. Wake up to yourselves Foxtel, I don't pay my subscription to watch this substandard rubbish.

That's very true. Lots of pointless matches have been shown recently like Charlton vs. Bolton, Birmingham City vs. Portsmouth, etc.

Also, it could just be me, but there sure have been a lot of matches involving Villa being televised lately. Maybe one of the producers is a Villan or something?

Either way, Foxtel's choice of matches this season has been absolutely appalling.

Tell the clowns there to pull their head out of their arses, surely the rating must be sliding for these games. Honestly, who can be arsed to stay up till 2am watching Charlton play Bolton (Most boring premiership team ever incidently). Alright, I'm a bit biased, I am a Palace fan, still the only thing left to play for now is who stays up and who gets relegated. Title sealed, CL spots sealed, so why the hell aren't we seeing any of the relegation battles that are played during the midnight slot?

And why are Bolton on so much? They are one of the boring teams in the Premiership, yet they seem to be on every week.

p.s. yes we are still in with a shot at the uefa cup, so we definitely have lots to play for. How can you possibly say last weeks match vs Bolton wasnt quality ? It was a great game, end to end all match.

I for one can do without watching Southampton, that Peter Crouch is positively frightful, watching him stalk around the pitch with those spider's legs gives me night terrors. Don't mind Norwich though, most entertaining of the relegation threatened sides imo, hope they stay up.

of course. I want to see quality ... there IS A reason certain teams are fighting to stay alive you know. It's because they are not good enough. End of story.

The drama of a relegation battle is alot more interesting than watching two mediocre midtbale teams battle out for a spot in a worthless second tier European competition.

Have a look at Leeds last year, they showed just about all their relegation matches, and quite frankly it was painful (and Leeds are my second team, so i love to see them). There was a reason they were relegated.

i would rather watch a relegation battle than a mid-table game any day of the week. teams that are threatned with relegation usually brings out the best in them. norwich's win over man utd a couple of weeks ago is a good example of that.

So if Palace play Charlton on the last day to determine who'll stay up, you'd rather watch Newcastle vs Bolton for example? Yes, I am saying Norwich vs Soton will be good, I'd much rather watch a game with something riding on it, than two mediocre teams playing for nothing.

Well Norwich v. So'ton just made you look like a bloody idiot. 4-3 to Southampton and a pretty damn entertaining game.


The relegation battle is great Southampton just went from 20th :arrow: 17th and out of the bottom three.
