I'm planning to link the IQ box to the dvd recorder with an SVIDEO cable. My thinking is that to transfer a game to my dvd recorder for burning to a disc, I would simply have to have the game in playback mode on the IQ box and recording to the recorder. Alternatively, I could just bypass saving to the IQ box, and simply sacve direct to the recorder when the game is replayed during the week.
Yep that should work.

I need to get a better picture of how things interlink.

Yep that should work.

When im linking the TV to the Video recorder to Foxtel to the DVD player to the DVD recorder to the XBOX to CD/AUX player to the AV sender - i just use trial and error. God knows how it is actually connected and i dread the day i need to set it all up again (Im still the only one that knows how it all works and what the 10 odd remotes are all for :D)

I do like the fact that with the iQ box you can apparently set-up series downloads in one easy move. Looking forward to getting American Chopper episodes this way.

Yeah thats probably the best thing about it.

Yeah, we looked at movies, but didn't see the point in it. World Movies looked okay, but the others didn't thrill me, given we keep up with new stuff quite cheaply via VideoEzy dockets each month. They were offering the choice of free movie channels for 3 months or free installation and it was an easy choice to run with the latter, particularly when the free install extended to the IQ box.

Yeah, i mainly watch sport, news and docos so i wouldn't get the time to watch many movies and like you said.. with them so cheap to hire from Video Ezy thats the better way to go (plus you get the extras on the DVD etc..)

Fully intend to get the magazine each month, Old Son!

It'll cost us around $70 a month for basics+sports+IQ+magazine.

I'm happy with that.

Not happy with the waiting, however.

This is bullsh*t, clearly they need to hire more installers!

Good to hear ;-)

$70? Thats cheap but i guess thats just the Basic + Sport package.

I looked at the package i've got - Big Value (+ My Sport) =$74.85

+Mind Games = $6.95

+ Magazine = $3.50

Rumors say Fox Footy will end broadcasting 30th September 2006. With a new channel, Fox Sports 3 showing the 3 lives games a week.

Dont quote me on that, but that's the word on various sites.

I hope it is wrong :( :( :(

I've been hearing it for yonks, and the guy who flogged me the Foxtel seemed to think that was the way they were going.

If the whole channel goes, we can but hope that WLF and League Teams make the transfer to Fox Sports 3 also.

I'm not panicking at this stage, as the main thing I wanted was access to live games, which will continue regardless.

I'd be surprised if Fox Sports 3 wasn't predominantly an AFL channel.

I'm told the main problem with the Footy Channel was that the old games & Fox Footy vault were filling slots that just weren't rating. A reorganised Channel 3 could keep much of the popular content, while judiciously filling quieter spots with alternative sport content.

Yeah i know its been known for yonks, just recently it seems to have been getting more and more realistic.

I reckon they should have a fox sports 3 and a fox classic :D (like ESPN classic in the states) that has old footage of a range of different sports.

I just like watching Richmond's wins 3-4 times during the week on FFC...

Yeah, a classic channel would be good, but given the main problem with FoxFooty appears to be that a lot of that stuff isn't rating there, they'd be better off keeping FoxFooty and creating a FoxSports 3 on top of it.

I quite like watching the odd bit of old play from the Footy Vault (Hawthorn vs Carlton 1985 was excellent), but in terms of classic quarters, every time I switch on FoxFooty of late I seem to get the same Bulldogs vs Saints quarter from Round 1 2001!
