Yes they are it doesn't take a genius to work out there's a serious culture problem at our club these statements have been appearing fortnightly for what seems like forever they are obviously not educating our players or forcing enough discipline when was the last time we sacked a player or even dropped them to reserve grade? These problems keep on happening yes Molo is obviously in the wrong but almost every single one of our players has been in the news for the wrong reasons that is why our culture most be fixed and it has to start with the board or this misery will keep on happening ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!!

What a load of crap. There is literally nothing the board could do to stop a bloke getting drunk and intimidating his wife. He's f**king 28 years old. If he doesn't already know not to do whatever he did, there's no amount of education that the club could provide to teach him not to do it. And why the f**k would the club even assume he'd do something like this if he hasn't had behavioural issues in the past?

The club has issues, but blaming these criminal players on the club is absolute bullshit. The club has nothing to do with Amone bashing a bloke with a hammer, that is his criminal father's fault. And who gives a shit about 2 players getting into a fight. Should the entire Broncos board be sacked because Haas and Albert Kelly got into a fight? What about the Raiders and Souths boards because Latrell and Wighton did?

And just saying oh the culture caused it. No, these players would be scum no matter what club they played for. Did the Cowboys culture cause Luciano to bash his partner? Did the Manly culture cause Fainu to stab someone? Did the Panthers culture cause May to assault someone. Did the Broncos culture cause Robati to allegedly sexually assault someone?

I agree Maximus.
I fully get all of the posters reactions, its very bad on many levels. It’s another black mark, on an already atrocious series of poor behaviour displayed by these players BUT I simply just don’t get blaming a work place for the behaviours of adults in their homes.

I would like to know ALL THE FACTS before throwing the toys out of the cot. No two incidents have the same facts, there is always very different circumstances surrounding the facts of each individual case, and that’s very important when making judgment Unfortunately I guess we won’t know that until it is published. I guess that’s after his sentence.?

If I get drunk and do something stupid, should the management at the company I work for get sacked as they clearly didn't educate me well enough? Geez companies all over Australia are going to need a new CEO every week based on the standard certain "fans" want to hold the Dragons to.

Looks like he admits that he committed an offence, but claims the circumstances are different to what the police claim. The Illawarra Mercury article says it will be back in court next month, so we should presumably hear more then.

Now the club has known about this for what two months or so & probably didn’t inform the NRL or else he’d likely would have been stood down.

Umm you could have just spent 2 mins reading the link provided instead of just assuming

“Dragons player Francis Molo today pleaded guilty to an intimidation charge relating to an incident at his home on December 17,” the club said in a statement.

“The NRL Integrity Unit was made aware of the matter at the time.

“The Dragons will continue to provide Francis and his partner with any support they require.

“The club will make no further comment on the matter.”

Great thanks for that obviously hadn’t seen that.

So why do these issues keep repeating themselves time and time again? Because there's no discipline within the club unless the NRL steps in ala BBQ, De Belin, Amone the players have gotten off Scott free no demotion no sackings etc.

It's our club and our culture it's toxic and it's evident. But if you wanna bury your head in the sand and pretend all is ok at our club then please be my guest, but until something is done from above problems like these will happen over and over.

Furthermore our club tried to cover it up hence it's only seeing the light of day now, pretty pathetic from a corrupt board that has clearly lost touch.

I’m surprised I’m back so quickly after Junior.

Anyway, I think this is the charge:

50117242-16E6-41A6-B06C-B074881A71E5.jpeg

As mentioned earlier, he’s contesting the Police account of what happened ( that the police probably got from his victim) and is arguing something else transpired. Probably less serious.

It’s a domestic violence offence, hes pleaded guilty and the nrl are sipping milkshakes. That’s garbage, I think he should be stood down.

I bet he’d be training anyway.

You’re probably having the worst pre season of any club in nrl history.

You have to tough it out and hang in there for the footy to start.

I think the club has to accept some responsibility. Too many players are mucking up.

He’s pleaded guilty to a domestic violence offence. If this flog doesn’t get the sack within 48 hours then the club are a bigger joke than i thought. No excuses, no waiting for the nrl to stand him down. He’s admitted to the offence. You’re gone buddy just like 2023. Disgrace of a man

So De Belin should have been sacked for something he wasn't found guilty of? And while I believe Amone should be sacked because there is video evidence, how often to clubs sack players accused of crimes before it goes to court? None of the players in my previous post have been sacked.

It's our club and our culture it's toxic and it's evident. But if you wanna bury your head in the sand and pretend all is ok at our club then please be my guest, but until something is done from above problems like these will happen over and over.

Ok explain exactly what our club did to cause Amone to bash someone with a hammer. Explain exactly what our club did to cause De Belin to be accused of rape. Explain exactly what our club did for Molo to do whatever he did. And don't just say they didn't educate them well enough.

Also, since we are using an incident from 2018, lets compare it to the Cowboys who had Barba assaulting his partner in Jan 2019, Scott Bolton pleading guilty to assaulting a woman in early 2019 and Leilua being charged with assaulting his partner in 2022. You believe their culture is toxic and their club is responsible for all of those incidents, and their entire board should be sacked?

What about the Broncos with Staggs harassing a woman in June 21, and Haas and Kelly getting into a fight, and Robati getting accused of sexual assault. Fifita was in a Bali jail for 3 days back in 2019 as a Bronco for assault. Are all of those incidents caused by the club and its toxic culture?

Furthermore our club tried to cover it up hence it's only seeing the light of day now, pretty pathetic from a corrupt board that has clearly lost touch.

No they didn't. It was reported to the integrity unit. Pretty pathetic accusation from a poster who clearly has no idea what he is talking about.

He’s a big scary guy.

He’s frightened his partner until she or someone else has called the cops.

And that’s serious.

And it seems it’s related to drinking, since he has to keep clear for 12hrs after drinking.

it’s serious, that’s why it’s up to 5yrs gaol, but it may not warrant any time at all.

i would stand him down till sentencing. Then based on the outcome of that, and a meeting with the player I’d decide if his contract is terminated and/or if there is other punishments.

Well spotted and very fair dealing of You standing down etc.

I doubt he’s looking at time, depends what he’s done, record etc.

But I just wonder when the club is going to put its foot down because there’s far too many players running amok.

He would have known Junior was finished, that would have depressed everyone and warned them to.

But a domestic violence charge, it’s a nasty business.

Look if your satisfied with where our club is at the job our board is doing then I'm happy for you.

It's obvious the players don't respect the board or the coach or even themselves, the BBQ incident speaks volumes of that.

Their is no discipline within the club our players off field behaviour is proof of that hell even our old coach was done for drink driving and he's in charge of the players and what happen nothing? A small fine which is chump change to these blokes.

The Roosters are a good example of how success starts from the top they used to always be in the news for the wrong reasons but a change in culture has seen them win 3 titles in 10 years players rarely in off field dramas.

But here again if you are happy with where we are at maybe you can bake some cakes for everyone here with the wooden spoon we are getting this year.

Your right Maximas, Debellin was not found guilty.
But if you think he acted appropiately while he had a partner at home heavily pregnant you are a wanker.
Also remember during the bbq incident he was found laying under a bed hiding like he did nothing wrong.
If you believe he is squeaky clean you are a moron.

So we have a team of drunks and thugs (off the field) ....... Be good if they can put all that agression on the field .......

So what you are saying is that if Amone respected the coach and board more, he wouldn't have assaulted someone with a hammer? If Molo respected the coach and board more, he wouldn't have gotten drunk and intimidated his partner. That somehow these players should have been disciplined for something they hadn't yet done?

You keep blaming the club for the crimes, but can't explain why other than "oh the culture made them do it". So what's more likely to have played a role in Amone's crime, the club culture or the family culture of being raised by a father with underworld ties and who was allegedly involved in a previous murder? Now since you believe it's the former, what specifically did the club do to cause him to attack a person with a hammer?

Also, given you decided to use the Roosters example, why didn't they teach their player not to access and distribute child abuse material?

If you personally have a pregnant wife at home and go out drinking, what punishment do you believe you should receive from your employer. Do you believe that you should be sacked or demoted from your job for what is a private matter, and if not, why should the club be morality police when you would not accept the same treatment?

Seeing a lot of photos of the squad visiting schools lately. In 2023 I wouldn’t want a Dragons squad anywhere near my school age child. Alleged rape (not found not guilty but charges dropped, big difference), grievous bodily harm, domestic violence, disobeying NSW government health laws during COVID lockdown…..not a group of people who qualify as respectable at the moment….
