Pantera is the epitome of metal. Heavy riffs, shredding solos, powerful vocals. What more do you need?

Personally I can't stand their music. The vocals I don't mind. I'm not that much of a fan of thrash metal, enjoy the more heavy/progressive/other stuff side of it. Only a few thrash bands feed my tastes.

I watched the one on Channel V last year, Night shift metal or whatever. Some of the f*cking worst metal bands on there...Converge...Pantera etc.

They play sh*t like Biohazard and I Killed The Prom Queen...But then they follow it up with stuff like Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon. Night Shift Metal was a mixed bag.

Pantera was hot and cold.

When they were good they were brilliant, but they could also produce some complete trash.

Best tracks: Cowboys From Hell, Cemetary Gates, 5 Minutes Alone, Walk.

As fas as metal bands go though, there are plenty that are FAR better.

Give me Immortal, SYL, Opeth, Burzum, Bathory, My Dying Bride, Bloodbath etc etc any day.
