I agree, mainly because Greg Bird isnt what you would call a text book five eight, but still very good and effective. I think Anasta got picked ahead of him because he has a great kicking game (better then Birds) and also had Origin experience, Jarrad Mullen needed that kind of player next to him, not another newbie like Bird.
Now because Bird has a Origin and test matches under his belt, it might be good timing to start with Bird at five eight and Orford at half and maybe later in the match bring Carney on as a five eight and push Bird into lock. I hate changing halves pairings during a match but Carney needs to be pushed for Origin.
Craig Wing and Peter Wallace could be suprizes for a halfback push. As far as im concerned, aslong as Bird is at five eigth, the half will feel alot "safer" with a form player next to him. (assuming he is in form, and he looks like the kind of player that comes alive for an Origin match)
