Well for starters Bryson Goodwin has been snapped up by super club Mittagong in Group 6
The other names you mentioned and not worthy so it shows that we just can’t go out and buy anybody we need to find someone who is currently on contract

Brendan Elliot would be a handy backup but we need forwards.
Seriously Brendan Elliot?..No...for what position?. he could not make 1st grade at Titans or Manly when they had some injuries..last man standing although he did got a look in
Actually dont answer that... I believe we have ample back stocks including some depth, and as you say we need more forwards.
I would take our younger brigade over Eliott

John Asiata is the only currently unsigned NRL played that could be useful for us.He's a big unit.
I've always rated Elijah Taylor too, but he has had more than his share of injury problems - plus Hook cut him at the Panthers so it's not likely he would see any value in him a few years down the track.

Solid reserve grade players.
Takairangi would add some expirence to our NSW Cup side.

Didn't Griffin cut Normand from the Brooncos too?

If these players were goods, you'd be donating them to Vinnies rather than trying to sell them on e-bay.

Hook is probably playing the long game and there are sure to be more players squeezed out and not just here. The ESL must be at some risk of not getting off the ground in Feb 2021 given the lockdown situation the UK is in now with all the dire economic consequences. Oop north is where Covid is most virulent and where the ESL competition is concentrated so you'd have to think there are going to be international quality players being asked to take a pay cut or some similar contract variation which will result in said contract becoming null and void and the players and their agents looking to sunnier shores. Some quality Rugby players may also become available this way.

None of the players on that list is of interest to me. I feel we should be looking to recruit a couple of forwards from Union or the Pacific Islands.

Show up or you’re sacked: Tigers’ ultimatum to disgruntled star

Wests Tigers have threatened to fine and then sack disgruntled forward Josh Aloiai if he fails to attend the club’s pre-season training which begins next week.

Aloiai and his management are agitating for a release form the final year of his Tigers deal to sign a more lucrative contract with Manly, but the club refuses to be a door mat.

The Daily Telegraph revealed a source close to the Wests Tigers was adamant the club would play hard ball with the 25-year-old.

The source told News Corp: “The club is standing strong — Josh won’t be released from his current playing commitments until there is outcome the club will accept. The club’s preference would be a player to replace him.

“Wests Tigers are adamant they can’t have a player of his quality just get up and walk out. They put a lot of work into Josh. The majority of Wests Tigers fans and members are onside with management over this — if you’ve made an agreement, fulfil that agreement.

“It’s not that difficult — see out your contract and then if you want to move on then move on. Clubs spend a lot of time formulating a roster and when a key players just get up and walk out, it puts the club on the back foot.

“Why should Wests Tigers suffer because a player wants to chase more money elsewhere when still under contract? I know it isn’t something the club wanted to play out in the public domain but Wests Tigers know this wasn’t their doing.”

Aloiai has the same manager as Addin Fonua-Blake, the Warriors signing who he is looking to replace at the Sea Eagles.

The 90-game NRL star told the club he will never wear the Tigers jersey again, before chairman Lee Hagipantelis hit back by saying, “he can mow the lawns at Leichhardt and Campbelltown”.

In response to that comment, Aloiai photoshopped his head on a gardener mowing a lawn with the caption “I’ll make sure it’s a super fast track boys”.

The Tigers will commence pre-season training on Monday and should Aloiai fail to appear without a reasonable excuse he will be fined. Failure to attend again on Tuesday could result in his immediate sacking.

The Tigers are resigned to losing Aloiai, but are trying to initiate a player swap with Manly, with former junior Curtis Sironen an option, but the Sea Eagles have so far baulked at that suggestion.

If I was the Tigers chairman I would place a condition on his release , that being his initial response to Aloiai’s threat of “ I will never to play in that jersey again “ , to mow the lawns . That would hopefully teach the beggar a bit of respect and humility .
