We so need more French players in the NRL. I'd like to see some sort of scholarship program where promising young players (18 year olds) come out for a year of coaching/playing with an NRL club in their junior system …
Where can we see the highlights?Just see the Caracassonne vs St Esteve highlights and notice they have adopted a two referee system. Is this for all games or was it a trial? Plus the quality of the game seemed higher than usual.
Should be on the Dragons youtube page.
Also on the 4020 Live podcast they alluded to France playing Wales and Jamaica at the end of the season with England Knights possibly in the mix. Also couldnt quite hear but something was mentioned that France were in the World 9's
When was the last time if ever the French juniors toured Australia??We so need more French players in the NRL. I'd like to see some sort of scholarship program where promising young players (18 year olds) come out for a year of coaching/playing with an NRL club in their junior system …
France needs more French players in the NRL.
The NRL doesn't until French players are at least as good as our current pool, which sadly they aren't close.
Like Jerome guisset.Yep, I appreciate that Monsieur adamkungl …
What I was talking about was juniors … have, say, 4-5 of the top French juniors (16, 17, 18 years old) each year come out on an NRL scholarship for a season to train and possibly play for an NRL junior rep team/s.
Hopefully they can then return to France and develop into better players.
As for adult French players, even having some of them come and play Canterbury Cup or InTrust Super Cup is helpful … Tony Gigot was going nowhere, came and played a season in Cronulla reserves and returned a vastly improved player.
Oh for an NRL or an ARLC with a long-term global focus !
Allez rugby a XIII !
