there were alot of other boys that played in that grandfinal, and alot of them have been labelled useless to!! and alot of them have been bagged out by their own fans and changed clubs too!
i could very well change my opinion of him, i am not that closed minded, i am just saying that he will have to work very hard to prove himself

I think a lot of people are prepared to give him a chance Freak however not many can see the sense of him being picked ahead of players who have the runs on the board in the top grade.

McKinnon was a talent when he was here, yes the coaching he no doubt received at Souths was from from top shelf and yes you cannot judge a player on past performances until you have seen him play again.

However, the point a lot of people are trying to make is that he has to produce the goods and show us how well he can play before people will consider his selection ahead of the likes of Burt, Graham and Vaealiki as warranted.

Agree guys he needs to prove his worth!!!

However knowing that they are looking at him for starting fullback I am willing to give him a handfull of games grace before I knock him.

I think they will line up like this initially barring no injuries before season opener.

1. Wade
2. Luke
3. Killer
4. Vaealiki
5. Grothe

Missing out Prince, Petersen, and injured Ash
If Ash was fit I would have Ash in for Wade, but he won't be.

Mate I am intrigued to know the source of your prediction.

I can't say I'll judge him from his previous form - I've hardly if at all seen him play.

When I returned to Australia in 2000 I watched the First Grade team. In 2001 I got caught up in the excitement of the achievements of the 2001 team, and so never bothered to look at the lower grades.

And at SOuths he did bugger all.

So I will not judge him. But I think he'll have to fight very hard for the number one spot.

Burty will start and finish at fullback this season.

The only player in his class is Ash, but he will need alot of physio, and half a season to get match fit.

half a season... wow, thats a big blow to someone so young... the club must be showing alot of faith in Ash then to want to extend his contract in the middle of an injury, i mean, some players don't come back as good as they were when they've experienced somthing like that.
Burty once said in response to "whats your favourite spot in the backline?"
"anywhere, it doesn't bother me, as long as i get to play"
