Just seen the latest viewing figures here in the UK.

The figures for Millenium Magic were great, up around the 200,000 mark. But what reall made me laugh, was that the friday night game on Sky (between NL2 semi-professional Celtic Crusaders and Oldham) rated higher than the top level rah-rah the next day.:C:


Unfortunately, those tossers in union still get paid a lot more money for their 'product' than we do.

It's called the old boys network, they're an insidious cancer that runs through the school systems, corporate systems and TV networks. They make sure kick and clap gets looked after.

No idea who the teams were, I don't watch union.

But it's annoying really, we kick their arses in the figures but get less money. The claim usually is "well they get different 'types' of viewers, ones that people want to sell stuff to, so that's why they get more money from the broadcasters."

Except that isn't true. Sky charge more for advertising during RL games than union games. So it's just a lie, really. They give more cash to them because they want to.

The BBC paid £70million odd for some comp or other a couple of years back, and this was with no-one else bidding for it, so the price wasn't pushed up artificially, they just wanted to pay that much!

well similar problems back in Aust, with TV rights... you know as much as people bag the Rabbits and their Armani suits, thats exactly the kind of thing the game needs to rid itself of this image it has.

Does anywhere besides Queensland call public schools 'State' Schools?

RL is the superior product, and the viewers of SKY in the UK seem to understand this.

You're right t-ba but unfortunately Sky don't listen to their own subscribers or take any notice of their own viewing figures. If they did then RL would be getting the coin and Onion the crumbs.
