The best Sydney finals in the NRL era were the Bulldogs-Eels (2009), Tigers-Dragons (2010) and Bulldogs-South’s (2012) prelims which all got 70k+ to Homebush. The other Sydney teams which get bad crowds for finals (Manly, Cronulla, even Penrith) need to work harder to grow their fan base

apart from the Sharks, Manly & Penrith all Sydney based teams will play their Finals matches at either CB,HB, or SFS. And imo unless those three teams are versing another Sydney club I can’t see why they can’t play week 1 of the finals at their home grounds. Sharks v Storm/Cowboys won’t sell out any of them bigger venues, in fact probably wont half fill the SFS. Let the teams get a week 1 sell out home ground advantage. The team and their supporters deserve the best chance they can get at winning the match.
the maximum number of fans that want to attend , should be able to
thats the only consideration for mine

If only 20K turn up to a sharks final at the SFS V a non sydney side .. so be it
thats 8K that got in that would have been locked out at Shark park which is not acceptable.

suburban dumps are barely good enough for club games , they are not good enough in any way shape or form for finals

Gee don't U have an agenda

Hardly. As I said this is nothing against the Sharks but it is pervasive attitude in our game. This whole we have always done it this way so we shouldn’t change.

You have to look at the big picture. Our main competitor would never consider playing a finals game in front of 12k people. Surely we should have some sort of ambition with crowds or the live experience

They've finally settled on the names for the stands at the new SFS. Stands will be named after Ron Coote, Arthur Beetson, Nicholas Shehadie, Johnny Warren and Betty Cuthbert. In fact the Beetson and Coote stand was officially unveiled today.

It's quite appropriate that out of 114 years the two Roosters legends chosen were both established first graders bought from other clubs 😉

They shouldn’t be in the comp if they can only attract 12k people to a final
He’s wrong anyway

the corporates at Allianz would be a million more than shark park

plus all the trust members will want to still go as the stadium is new
