The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I posted an article published by the SMH back in June 2022 saying why those proposing a new stadium over the rail lines at Central was never going to happen (link to post which has text of the article - https://forums.leagueunlimited.com/threads/future-nrl-stadiums-part-ii.445841/post-15259027).

So its flogging a dead horse to ever think it was going to happen.

As to the SCG and the SFS lands, people do forget that those ground are actually held in a trust which has very restricted usage permitted on it. No NSW Government can just unilaterally decide to sell it or to change its usage because of the conditions laid out in the trust deed, and also because those conditions are also specified explicitly in legislation. As such what Government is going to build yet another stadium around 5-10 km away from where it already has two? That's the other reason a stadium over the top of Central was not going to happen. It was pie in the sky as it did not address those realities.
Sure. There's practical reasons it won't happen, but technical feasibility isn't one of them. The #1 reason as you've mentioned is simply the proximity of the Moore Park precinct and the restrictions on its use that mean its likely to stay the stadium site for a long time.

f**k the sharks members

this is not the Sydney shield
its the NRL

Week 1 finals in 2019 drew 95k

Penrith will get 22k
Parra 30k
Shark Park 12k
If Souffs v Roosters ends up the 4th game. No reason it wouldn't get 35-40k

Crowd number overall matches that, Still will have plenty of empty seats for whingers like you to complain about

He’s wrong anyway

the corporates at Allianz would be a million more than shark park

plus all the trust members will want to still go as the stadium is new

What Corporates are choosing that game over Souths v Roosters on the same day?

Last time the Sharks and Ciwbkys played at the SFS in a final the crowd was 36,717. The 717 were Cow fans.
The same weekend of finals saw Melbourne vs Canberra, crowd was 28,161.

Thems the facts.
That was the prelim. In 2017 it was 16k. We was robbed too.

you sure

2019 they played one at Brookie I think
They changed the rules and Rd1 finals needed to be at WSS, SFS or Homebush for 10 years

But in May 2019

The knockdown of Allianz Stadium and emergence of Bankwest Stadium as an elite venue has prompted the NRL to scrap its policy of Sydney finals being played at either Moore Park or ANZ Stadium
